My car is in need of a fluid change and I have access to my buddies shop tonite to change it. However I have never done it on this car before, I have heard that I will need a pump to get the new fluid in the transmission because of the filler being in an odd location? Anyways just looking for any advice before I give it a shot tonite, thanx.

I've changed my tranny fluid before and yes the filler hole is in a strange angle. I used a funnel with a long tube. I put the long tube down through the engine and into the filler hole. It was alot easier than trying to use the pump thing for me anyways.

You shouldn't have a problem doing it.....its pretty simple IMO....just make sure to fill it up till it starts dripping out of the filler hole. Then you know its full....

I did it the same as y00j912 (long funnel, no pump), however I also took the left wheel and wheel well shield off and made my life much easier. Of course I didn't have access to a shop either. :)

Litres?? ~2.9 quarts -- basicallly 3.0 until it overflows by 0.1. :) I used Red Line MT-90 (75W90).

damn metric system. I can never remember how many pints in a mile or celsius in a pound. Just put in 177 in^3 and you should be good to go.

Yes, the long hose/funnel is the way to go. I used Royal Purple. After chaning to Royal Purple, the shift a unbelievible smooth (nothing but the best).

yah, part of the fun of having a dad who works for a test facility for a manufacturer. He took it to work one day and returned with synthetic tranny and engine fluids, super smooth =)

I believe the drain plug is a 22 or 23mm socket.. It is sort of an odd size so make sure you have it before you attempt the install.
