Who else hates the fake carbon fiber trim on the center console?

:mad: The more I look at it, the more out of place it seems ... Does anyone know of a place where I can get my hands on a replacement for the trim to match the rest of the interior?

we'll add more carbon fiber

add more carbon fiber to the rest of the car i got a carbon fiber guage bezel off ebay should be here shortly it wont seem as much auta place when u add more to it. i also ordered a orange vinyl interior kit off ebay, it comes with peice to overlay the carbonfiber ont he console u can get any color u want just about. check it out. those are some options or u could just take the peice out of the car and paint it whatever color u wanted.

Damn my sense of style, but it really bothers me. I would really like to replace the trim with aluminum to match everything else ... especially since I ordered aluminum gauge rings from DaveB.

i like mine too. try corksport.com they have interior trim kits. i think they sell a replacement for the cf trim.

I took a quick look, but I don't see a replacement for the trim alongside the console. And it doesn't look like the pieces can be bought individually. I don't want to pay $400 for an entire interior make over.

Yeah, I found the vinyl covers on ebay, assuming these are what you were referring to. They seem like the best option, for now, unless someone else has another idea.

yep i baught that vinyl kit on ebay like 29.99 i think maybe less cant remember its being shipped to me i should get it in a few days it has those peices u wanted included and its cheap. but i dont plan on covering up mine on my car. im only gonna put the vinyl on certian parts i jsut wanna accent the interior wish some more orange.

why dont you just pop them out and paint them?

im sure some sedan owner with the dimply gray patter might want to trade... at least, i think i remember seeing a sedan with that for the trim.

Well I personally hate it. I think it looks like cheap plastic crap. Wait a minute it is cheap plastic crap. I plan on doing the DGM carbon dash kit soon to get rid of it. And guess what I actually don't like the look of the silver either. I did at first but the stuff scratches wayy to easy. I will be getting rid of most of that with the dash kit and whats left is getting painted black mica.

FuNwaGoN, I hope I dont step on your toes, but the pics of the DGM full interior kit looks just as tacky as the painted crap we already have. Maybe one or two peices would look good, but the whole thing. . . just plain overdoing it. Thats my 2cents, but then again, I dont even want to do many mods because I think the car is just about perfect the way it is.

hi, what i know about the interior trim is :
you can buy a set for it from mazda and i know it costs about 120euros here.... you can actually chose between aluminium, wood or carbon ...

I feel like I've seen some interior shots of European/Asian Proteges (like the Familia) and they did not have the carbon fiber. Perhaps we could order some replacement parts directly from Mazda?

I don't like it either. I think they did a great job with the interior of my P5, but that is the one thing that really stands out as a mistake.

I think the interior looks really nice, and I've had nothing but compliments on it. The carbon isn't real, but it's ok.

I can't stand loud interiors. Bright colors inside all over the place, I think it's tacky. I specially hate red interiors for some reason. I guess it reminds me of all the old GM products that had red dashes and seats back in the 80's....they looked like crap and aged like s*** as well.
