Hi,

Are those the same type of rotors that the guy from ebay is selling?

How hard were they to put on? I heard that they might be difficult (esp. the rear wheels)...

I'm dying to find out how hard they are to put on, cause im DYING to get them. I know as far as functionality, they arent that different...but the look is pretty bad ass....

If its simple enough for me, I would love to get started!

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated! The ride looks great!

Rotas/P5 pics

Man those rims and rotors look sweet!!! Again where did you get the rotors?

thanks guys. i got the rotors from the guy on ebay. it is option auto or something like that. they are in canada. they guys name is raymond i think. the install was real easy. just take the two bolts that hold the caliper off. slide the caliper off making sure to support it with something (ie. don't just hang it by the brake line) yank the old rotor off. sometimes you have to tap it with a mallet. slide the new rotor on and use a lug nut to hold it in place. then slide the caliper back on and reinstall the two bolts using alittle lock tight. the back is the same. the caliper bolts are different sizes than the front. if you have a set of box end wrenches and a rachet set, the install should be no problem. good luck

those slipstreams are awesome...what size are they?....now it looks now you need to lower that bad boy....nice:D

my rims are 16x7. the tires are 205/45. speaking of lowering. i just got my eibach pro-kit in the mail today from no-limit enterprises. got a hell of a deal. $195 shipped. i will put them on sometime this weekend and post more pics. peace

the brakes feel the same. i doubt i will be able to tell a difference. the cross drilling should help in traffic and boy do we have alot of that here in atlanta. next, i am going to get a set of SS brake lines and when my pads wear out some really good brake pads. i figure i can't make my car that fast, but i can make it stop and handle like a mother

car looks good with the black rims. however, in that second picture, if that is your front tire, it looks like the rotor is on the wrong wheel. the holes are spinning in the wrong direction. they should be situatted so that when the tire is spinning, the holes expand outward. the way you have it, they spin inward.

i took them straight out of the box and put them on the coresponding wheel. the boxes are label right and left so if they are wrong, brembo must have screwed up.

i went to brembo's website and looked at some customer cars. they all look the same as mine. the line of drilled holes is slanted towards the back of the car. check it out

jsgolfer, you could help all these folks out by writing a how-to on the rotors. or maybe there's already one there, and im completely insane. But if not, go ahead and take five to write a detailed how-to.

Thanks, and looks fantastic.

where would you like it? in the how to section or in here? it won't be much because it is really simple but i would be happy to do it. also, what would you like it to include? bolt sizes and everything or just instructions?

there is a HOW-TO section in this forum.........go there........=)
Nice work on the rotors....thinking of getting them myselfs......

One question though.....I heard people say it useless to get the back rotors because most of the WORK are on the front brakes.
You would only get the back as well for looks. Is that true ??

it is true that in any car, the front brakes do most of the work. however, have you ever seen a car with no back brakes? in our cars, the front brakes are a more heavy duty unit. while the back are alittle less serious. still, i would not say the back are useless. just less important.

It's actually not a bad idea to only get the cross drilled rotors on the front........if you're going to be using the rotors at their limits (take your car up to Willow Springs let's say) Your front rotors will heat up a lot faster than your rears, this will build up and mess with your brake bias. By retaining some heat in your rears and dissipating the heat from your fronts, the two actually heat up closer to the same rate

If you dont mind me asking how much did the Rota with tires go for>? And where did u get them?
Looks great by the way..
You should wait for some shocks b4 u throw on the prokit

i got the rotas and the tires from Rishie Garg at Automotive R&D. he is a member of this board and has a P5 aswell. he did the fitment and made sure i was getting the right stuff for my car. you should look him up if you are interested in wheels or anything else for our cars. i don't think i am allowed to post what i paid. and by the way, i put the pro kit on yesterday and i love it. now i have to save for shocks. hopefully by the time tokico comes out with the iluminas for our car, i will have the cash

Actually Brembo doesn't make cross drilled for our car yet. Yes the rotors are Brembo but that guy Raymond from Ebay takes them to a machine shop and has them cross drilled. I know this because I have talked to him several times. So just be sure you guys konw what you are getting if you think that they are true brembo cross drilled rotors. I think they look sweet though.

hey everyone, i got the updated pics up now. put my springs in this weekend. hope you like it. now i am broke so i will start saving for more mods. peace
