hey i searched for this and didn't really find anything but when i accelerate i hear the turbo spool up and the engine but then theirs this whistle i never heard before any ideas?? i have an injen CAI but i don't think its that cuz i already hear that

you will get a whistle especially at WOT. some cars do it longer and more often. mine did it when it was new and now is only really apparent when driving at WOT at high speeds.

sry for my stupidity but what is wot? myc ar never did it before and i had it since May. i had my intake in since october and it just started doin this 2 days ago. could i possibly have a leak?

Your car is turbo, enjoy the sound, especially when you are speeding by someone who has their window rolled down and the turbo is screaming in their ear! I love doing that, I can't wait to get a BOV to make even more noise!

nope
not a leak

apperantly there are 2 different materials that were used to make (at least) the upper IC pipe.

i've had that pipe replaced on my previous car, and it was stiffer than the one they repplaced.
with original pipe the turbo was really quite, and with the new one it made a very loud whistling noise (i had a stock air box then).

some new MSP's come with harder pipe(s)

also if it's not your pipe, check the rubber seal on your upper IC pipe (it's the one that comes from turbo to the intercooler)
sometimes the rubber seal comes out.

i love the whistle, i think its the greatest sound in the world, wish mine did it more often....

(i have always assumed its the turbo)

Dr. Sound how do you get your car soooo shiney?????? They look killer, I'll bet you miss the Spicy Orange, glad you are OK!

P.S. sorry for the thread jack.

lol
when we were installing downpipes of a few MSP's, we didnt tie one of the screws tight on one MSP.
it sounded like a jet plane!

After I put a downpipe on my MSP, the high pitched whistle went away. Now it's just a "woosh"

Peace.

I get a whislte like chirp when I sift from 3rd to 4th or 4th to 5th around 4000 rpms. My friend who knows alot more about cars then I do said it was normal. Something like the turbo blow off or something to that affect. Is this the whistling you are speaking of or is long whislte?
