just done 1000km in my CX7 AWD
Recently noticed, that when driving cold (and it has been winter here downunder), that there is a whining noise that rises as the engine speed rises.
I'm pretty sure it's not the turbo whistle as it seems to be only at relatively low RPM, eg between 1000 and 3000 rpm. ALso it's a slightly lower pitch.
Doesn't seem to be there once the car is warmed up though.
That'll make it hard to demonstrate to the service people :-(
