Which turbo should i get?

Hey whats going on, i tried searching but i couldnt seem to find what i was looking for. i have two turbo choises to go with. gt 2871r or gt3071r. now im not going to do internals for a while. what is the most amount of awhp the ms6 can hold without blowing the motor. now i know the 2871r is alot smaller than the 71r. i want something that i can have alot of fun with daily driving. im not lookin for a lot of awhp. can my motor hold 330-340awhp? im going to do either turbo, with 3inch turbo back, atp turbo inlet. cobb ap, upgraded fuel pump fmic bov, and plugs. anything else i need to run this hp? should i replace the manifold aswell? or can the stock one hold that power goal? let me know..

pretty sure the only mazdaspeed i've ever heard of with that much awhp was Whoosh's with a GT35R and EVERY PART THAT EXISTS. lol.
 
I would seriously recommend waiting another 3-6 months to see what's out. I wouldn't jump the gun and buy ATP unless you had no other choice (and custom would still be a better choice!)
 
yeah i hear ya, i just want to know what the ms6 will hold as in power? i also have another question. i have an innovative dual ball bearing 30r sittin in my room. water and oil cooled. can i run that in my car and hook up the stock lines? or that wouldnt work?
 
you can honestly run just about any turbo with enough work or money put into it. nobody can give an honest and accurate answer as far as how much power we can hold consistently/reliably on stock internals - nobody knows yet. Once the tuning becomes more refined and we figure out what causes the rods to go, we will start to get a better idea - that might not happen for a while though.

many of the guys that have dumped huge amounts of money and time and work into the car up until this point have either done major damage or have been really frustrated with the lack of results. once the big players (mostly CPe and Cobb at this point, PTPerformance is up and coming potentially in the DISI world but they don't have many tangible things yet) start to figure it out, we will know where we stand.
 
yeah i hear ya. i just wish our power plants are like the evo's and sti's they can easly hold 400whp on stock internals. im prob just gonna get a 30r in the car, run like 12-14psi, and then save money to get my block sleeved and built.
