The Bushing goes on the other end of the OTHER (support?) rod, not the shifter rod itself.

Thanks, ArkosP5! This is exactly the sort of thing we need! Has anyone else tried more than one? Please share your impressions and personal opinions. The descriptions ArkosP5 used really addressed both subjective and physical differences.ArkosP5 said:B&M: 1" drop (for P5) - 42% throw reduction
Kartboy: 2" drop (for P5) - 35% throw reduction
Having played with both (I have a friend with MP3+B&M, and one with P5+Kartboy) here are my feelings
They both feel about the same in terms of "tightness", my friend with the P5 says the Kartboy is a bit harder to push
In My opinion, the B&M was a little too short a throw. My mind kept telling my hand that I needed to go a bit further.
The Kartboy was nice, in that it was more of a "expect to need to push farther", but is already in place.
I don't know if that makes sense.
In other terms,
B&M: I wanted to push it further
Kartboy: I thought I wanted to push it further, but it was right where it should be.
Hey, you're right! Thanks for the clarification. Your prestidigitation is obviously based upon an erudition of automotive proficiency.ArkosP5 said:Actually, if you get under the car, there are two separate rods. One actually changes the gears, the other just connects the transmission to the shift housing (?).
The shifter bushing goes on the latter of the two rods. Has nothing to do with the shifter rod itself (the shifter rod is what connects the shortshifter to the transmission)..

Looking at TWM's short shifter, I see pictures that shows they fitted the original MP3 shift knob. So it works? What do you think?
TWM's MP3/P5/Protege Short Shifter Pictures
No one confirmed if Kartboy's short shifter works with MP3 thread, and B&M's short shifter doesn't work with MP3's original shift knob, correct?
Thanks!
