Which intake is better?

if you wanna proven hp gain then the weapon-R has been dynoed and proven of 7.2hp. As for the price that's pretty bad $200. here's the site www.weapon-r.com, anyways i like the injen cai but they cost $259-up and probably a gain of 5-10hp, MHp cai $329 alittle to rich for me there now. Anyways i like the injen cai but for the money and hp weapon-r is in, and if i have the money for the injen then it's in two, but i don't. :D

wheres this dyno? its not on their site...
also...their dragon intakes are only for the 1.8l...MP3's is a 2.0l...

there making them out for the 2.0ls and i think i saw one on nopi.com i'm not sure but if you go to the link bar on the left it show's you there's a dyno gain of 7.2hp or when you click on the dragon intake it shows 7.2hp gain at the bottom. Hope that helped bye :D

I'm going to do some more stuff to the car come spring. I'm looking at the injen as well.

MY question is how much of a change in sound is there. I'd almost prefer no change at all.I can't stand the pissed of bee sound.

So, is the change much louder? is it deeper, or higher pitched? Is it annoying at higher speeds etc etc.

Does anyone know of a Canadian online store i can order the injen?

The Injen CAI gives my car a really cool deep growl at high RPMs. You can feel it in the floor at your feet.. kinda vibrating, winding up.. it makes it sound mean and evil and stuff. None of that bumblebee ricer junk, it sounds good.

I have the MHP Carbon Fiber CAI. I was afraid of getting that bumble bee sound as well but I was presently surprised with a nice throaty growl. The car sounds really tough with a CAI on it. That might have to do with the exhaust set up as well. I have noticed most of the cars with that high pitched buzz have a particular type of muffler. Man is that sh*t annoying!

The bumble sound is more of the exhaust setup. With a CAI, you'll get more noise out side of the car. But if you have a short ram it'll be a liitle bit louder in the cabin of the car. At least that's how it was on my Civic when I went from the short ram AEM to the Cold Air. My friend Altima is extremely loud with his short ram too.

I was looking at the pictures of the MHP CAI, and it looks like it get's smaller for the sensor and then back up to 3" pipe.

Is that what it does? Go 3" to 2.5" for the sensor then back 3" into the throttle body, where I am guessing it goes back to about 2.5"?

That doesn't sound like it would work as well as if the whole intake was the same diameter. The sensor would create a small venturi like effect and then the air would slow down going back into the 3" section. Does that sound right? I don't know, just thinking.

OK guys. I spoke w/ a tech(Mike?) at AEM before they released their shorty for the Pro2.0. He said that they thoroughly tested the benefits of a short vs. a CAI, and after they had finished their research they decided that the most beneficial gains were garnered from a short ram. He did note that each had different benefits depending on where you were in the RPM curve, but their testing proved "their" short ram produces more power than the competitors CAI's as well as their own that they developed for testing. I don't know how many have seen the AEM shorty for the Pro2.0, but the 2 pc construction heads south, then attaches to the bracket extending from the coolent overflow. From this fairly open area, the filter then extends downward, drawing "cooler" air than most conventional short rams. Just my 2cents, but there it is. I'll have to admit, I'm a dedicated fan of nearly everything engineered by AEM. Who knows though, after time they will probably develop a CAI as well just to prove me wrong.

i say the only way we are going to find out what intake is better where is to do the following:

dyno car stock twice
dyno car with intake A twice
dyno car with intake B twice
dyno car with intake C twice
dyno car with intake D twice
so forth and so forth

that is the only way we can find out, one car all intakes same day dynos, with same weather. Once i get some good money im going to do this, but if anybody wants to help me out cool.. :D
