Looking at buying a CX7 and trying to figure out if mp3 playback is possible. I know there are several different stereo options for the car ( standard, standard 6-disc, bose 6-disc, and bose nav) None of these make any mention of being able to play mp3 encoded discs however. So can anyone confirm which decks can do this? Thanks.

It seems to be hit-or-miss. I have the Bose six-cd changer and it doesn't do MP3, others have the same option that does. The only way, it seems, is to look at the player itself--if it has the MP3 logo in the upper left corner, as opposed to just the six-disk CD logo, it's MP3 capable. There must be a part code for it; don't know if it shows up on the sticker or not.
It is a hit or a miss I have, mine came with the MP3 (GT AWD). Maybe you when you order your ask for it.

We are most likely going to get a GT AWD model (love the standard features it has). Just trying to decide on stereo options and mp3 capability is important. I really wish this car had the same AUX input like the Mazda 3 does (I use an iPod). Do you have Bose or the standard in-dash 6 disc?. Thanks!
