Ok which setup would you get for you MSP...i'd like input from others before I decide.

not quite sure what the weather is like in nashville...do they ever have to put salt on the roads? i don't imagine so....

I'd pay the extra $50 or $100 for SS, but i do have road salt to worry about.
Also, apparently Magnaflow has a cat-back for about $400, according to another thread. Not sure of the size or the material though.

they do salt the roads :(

in that case, i'd probably look for something with ss piping. i don't know how much help the thermal coating would be. the spool is nice. but i like the idea of 3" piping :D so my vote is for a custom exhaust (yes)

no...not that's cheap in cost...most of them won't touch your car if it's a import.

why spend $600 on a pipe that will get you little or no gain? get a downpipe/test pipe that removes the cats for less money or save up and get a full turbo back. I don't quite understand the point of the catback besides looks or sound and if that's the reasoning the cost doesn't seem worth it. Is there another reason a catback is worth $600?

I started with the JIC catback and saved up for another few weeks to get my DP. Trying to save almost a grand is impossible for me.
EDIT: The JIC is also full stainless steel.

really? how much do the shops say they'll charge?

$150 for welding and then whatever piping and muffler would cost. Probably come out to the same price and if not close to the cost of the APEX or Spool systems

the shops don't already have the mandrel bends in stock in their garage? can they give you an estimate on the total cost of it minus the muffler?

nope they don't stock the piping...say it's special order...unless you own a mustang or camaro they don't like to mess with it. plus they throw BS that they can't get flanges and etc. :( too much headache to go thru. i'd rather just order something that i know will fit and i can bolt it on.
