Where to get aftermarket transmission oil cooler

My FWD 2012 doesn't have a transmission oil cooler. I went to the Mazda dealer to see if I could have the factory cooler added. Nope, they said they don't sell the oil cooler. I don't understand that because what if a factory installed unit was damaged?

Anyway, I went to I35 Transmissions in Lancaster, Tx. to get a quote on an aftermarket cooler installed. They said it would cost 350.00 and they would call when the cooler came in. They never called so I think I should keep shopping.

So my question is: Does anyone know a shop in the Dallas, Tx area that could be recommended to do this?

Thanks

any good 4X4 shop can do this. Mount oil cooler. run lines. labor will be in bending lines.

I called 4wheelparts and they said they don't sell or install transmission oil coolers. I'll keep looking.

This is becoming way harder than it should be. I called a Mazda specialist and they said no can do. Left a message with a Mazda dealer and they have not returned the call. Still looking.

I went under the car and checked out the situation. I didn't realize that the transmission oil lines run through the radiator as in typical American cars. This makes the process of adding a cooler much easier. I'm going back to a general garage I have dealt with before and have them install an aftermarket cooler. Probably one from B&M.

The garage recommended two transmission places to get the job done. I went to the first one and they said the specialist would call me. No call.

I'll try the second transmission shop.

I can put this project to bed now. I purchased a super cooler from B&M Transmission products for about 60.00. Then I found a local garage called Lake Highlands Automotive to install the cooler. They charged 330.00 in labor.

I now have a super cool CX-9.
