Where should I set the boost

I apologize for not searching but sometimes you get a straighter answer if you ask a specific question. I know that the boost on the speed 6 tapers down a lot from like 15 down to 9 psi, so I would think there might be some power to gain using a mbc ,wisely.

1. I have a test pipe and have the CP-E flash.

What would be a good and safe level to set the controller at?

Don't mean to reply to myself but did some searching and it seams that a lot are opposed to the MBC. I have owned a WRX and forester 2.5xt (talk about a sleeper) and had a MBC on them with no problems so I thought the same logic might apply to this engine, but it doesn't look that way. Guess I will save for AP or cpe.

In the mean time, spend 60 bucks get your MBC and be happy with the extra power. They work fine, it's just a heck of a lot less of a hassle with the AP, you don't have to fine tune it or rework your vaccum lines. Plus if you don't need a boost gauge if you don't have one with the AP.

I had mine set up to 18psi, anything above that the turbo just blows smoke and doesn't make any more power.

I've addressed this topic in detail elsewhere so I'm not going to repeat myself outside of MBC's are a mistake for this platform. You've been warned.

I woudln't say they are a mistake if you are careful but they are a cheap way to get power. If you have the supporting mods and you set your mbc to an appropriate level you should be fine. But if youre stock and your sticking your MBC at 20 psi . . . boom boom pow.

this post is straight to the point s***. Listen to it and you will not need to buy a new motor for your car.

mazda designed the boost to taper off for a reason. particularly up near and after 5.5k

i wouldnt suggest messing with boost unless you can control some other parameters as well.
