Roger that, BigBlue and Todd...Dell's firewalls are like 100' high and 300 miles long!! lol

Same deal here... I'm at work while most of you are online, and I have a firewall that won't let me chat. By the time I get home, half of you are probably in bed because of the time difference. Oh well. As I've mentioned before, there's always AOL Instant Message. I can chat on that while I'm at work for some reason, so if anyone wants to start a chatroom there, just let me know!

well, our firewall here is more powerful than yours...:( I cannot use AOL IM, Yahoo IM, or even Yahoo Mail!!!:(

well I can't use the chat room from work either...same problem....nor can I download and install ANY software....no IM's for me.....gut i can access any website....but they have a net nanny at work...so if you go to the wrong place...they will hammer you for it....it could even get your job.

My friend got into trouble for downloading an MP3 at work... His network administrator wanted to make an example of someone and he just happened to be it. The admin called Sony to rat on my friend (that's the company the song was from). These investigators showed up at his office, in front of everyone, asked him to step aside so they could look at his computer files, and found a few more songs. They said they were unsure of how they were going to pursue the case, so they kept him waiting anxiously for three months. He ended up getting an official warning, but no charges were pressed. Two other guys that worked with him were also reported by the network guy and ended up getting three years in jail. Turns out they were burning CD's and selling them for profit!

for this I can understand why they got burned....not a good thing to use your companies computer for illegal activities....after all...it makes them liable as well....

if you want to get through your firewall.. use a product like trillian. it will route through a port that is not blocked. For example port 80.. i'm going to assume if you can get to these forums your able to browse the web. so you should be able to use this product. It allows you to use all the messangers mentioned above in one window.

trillian:

Hope this helps.

I agree! I use Trillian since someone here pointed it out. It has been great! You can connect to all the major chat client networks at the same time! (AIM, Yahoo, MSN, IRC, and ICQ). If you haven't already, go to www.tirllian.cc and get it!

Well actually I had changed something that broke the chat, now it's fixed, so let me know if it works better, umkay?

If yall still can get to it make enry fix it.

He wrote some software to bypass the firewall, It also allows you to chat with people on different types of messenger accounts.
