Where does this hose go???

I was getting ready to disconnect the battery on our 02 Tribute V6 4X4, and noticed this hose just sitting there, un-hooked, can't see where it might plug into ... seems to have been unplugged for awhile ... and appears to go down to the top of the transmission??? Our Cruise control is the only thing that doesn't work, but everything else seems to work right ... well expect for the alternator bearings are growling ...

It appears that the "hose holder" is designed to accept another hose ... at a 90 degree angle ...
