Where do you keep your change in the Mazda5?

This is a random question.

But where do you keep your loose change in the Mazda5?

In my old Mazda3, there was a decent sized ashtray in front of the shifter where I can stash my loose change and access it easily.

But the Mazda5 doesn't come with an ashtray (or if it does, I haven't found it yet.) My wife puts the change in the top storage tray of the center console, but I can never get that compartment opened on the first try (and it's a pain the butt to half turn in the seat to count out the right amount of change).

I've thought about using that extra indent space on the lower left hand side of the dash but things keep sliding out.

So where does everyone else stash their loose coins in the Mazda5?

Dang it...

That is going to be my suggestion to Mazda for improvements to the 07 Mazda5. Give me somewhere easy to store my loose change.

:)

I use the cubby behind the headlight switch, left of instrument cluster. I tried the right side, and it was harder to get the change out of the right cubby. I was concerned about coin rattling, but havent noticed it yet.

Another random question: Do US models WITHOUT NAV have a storage compartment in the top of the dash? I thought I saw a photo somewhere that showed what looked like a storage compartment. If so, I'll be jealous as the Canadian models (no Nav available here) just get an expanse of unbroken black plastic. I've been thinking about excavating a storage compartment there, but that's a story for another day....

I use the small cubby on the right, because I'm right handed and it feels easier to get the change out. Even tho that space seems to lack an interior sloping ridge as the otehr cubbies have that would make sliding something out much smoother. Did Mazda just forget to cap that sloping edge?

Nope, no storage compartment for NON NAV US 5.

Although it would make perfect sense, and keep Mazda from having to produce 2 different upper dash assemblies (1 for Nav, and 1 Without).

Keep Zooming!

I actually bought 4 of those coin things right from Mazda in Japan but only ended up using one. They work perfect for Loonies and quarters but too big for the smaller stuff. Was gonna put up the extras on eBay but never got around to it. If ne1 wanted them let me know.

ANyone know what those 4 buttons should be? I hate getting all options and STILL having blank buttons.

Euro-buttons go there. If you bath regularly you wont be able to get those options. Things like headlight levelling for when you get a bunch of fatties in your car and your headlights are aimed towards the trees is one of the options I am thinking. They have so many crazy options over there its unreal. If you want to use the blank holes just by some switches and mount them to your Nitrous bottle and your neon lights and you air ride suspension, oh and dont forget the ejection seat button.

I know the switches for the power sliding doors go there....but don't know what else.
