i extended the wires on my cp-e and mounted it under the dash on the drivers side.

Man, you guys really have money to burn...I would NOT put the SB in the engine bay at all without sealing it inside a water-proof box. Something clear would look real nice, but not exposed to the elements like you guys are doing. Maybe I'm just more careful here in Washington State because it rains 80% of the time. At the least, I would not put it under the battery box ventillation tube without blocking it off like others stated, but block it off up inside the hood scoop to ensure you dont get any water dripping on it. Also, what about water coming into the engine bay from the front of the car?

Forgive me, I'm new to this sorta stuff, but can't you put the main system somewhere inside the car? Behind the dash? Or ziptie it somewhere under the dash? or maybe above the radio where the nav unit would be (I saw someone point out a lot of room there)?

Just getting ideas for a distant future mod (assuming I don't decide to go with some sort of plug and play system)

They are but all you need to do is extend them. My shop did this and has everything hidden. The standback is under my driver side dash and the USB cable comes out under the passenger side so it can be easily street tuned if the dyno is not accessible.

that is a nice set up I wish mine was set up that good
