When to clean the Mazdaspeed CAI?

I had it installed at the dealer shortly after purchasing the car (had it included in the car's price and went back when the part was in). How often to I need to clean it? I guess it came with some sort of cleaning solution to mix with water to clean it. But I didn't see anything on how often to do this. Is it just the same maintainance interval as the regular air filter (somehow I doubt . . . )? Thanks.

Welcome to the forums..You should clean it every 10k-15k depending on your conditions.If you drive on alot of dirt roads you may want to clean it more often.

I was thinkng about posting the same question about CAI filters. I only have about 3k on the filter but I'm going to be stuck driving it this winter so I figred it would become an issue sometime soon.

Ok. And if I'm correct (still have a WHOLE lot to learn about cars), cleaning it doesn't hurt it so I'll just clean it every 10k. Makes it easy to remember when it needs to be cleaned. And it won't hurt. Thanks.
