When to change trans fluid

More info - they don't want to order it because they've never sold any of it and they would have to buy a whole case. They aren't willing to do it.
I think I'll say screw it and get the Motorcraft synthetic stuff everybody seems happy with so far instead.

I guess I didn't know this until I found this info but the Motorcraft stuff being discussed here IS factory spec. It's a 75W90 GL4 fluid made for manual transmissions. I didn't see the viscosity specs or GL rating previously so I had reservations about running it!
Problem solved and I'll buy it however I have to.

The XT-M5-QS seems like the stuff to use. I like it so far having put it in the car yesterday.
