When my driverside door is open the dome light goes out, WHY?

Looking for some help, When my driverside door is open the dome light goes out, WHY?

I noticed when I would unlock my car with the key fob and open the drivers side door the dome light would go out, and the alarm would reset itself, like the car didn't recognize that the door was open. Why would this be? Thanks for your help.

sounds like the little button in the door is stuck pushed in. just unscrew it and pop it back out

I don't think the button is stuck. I push the pin in, and it pops back out. Any other thoughts?

Try actually removing the pin and checking to make sure the wire is still connected/not corroded on the back side

replace it...I think door pins are like $10-$20. Anything hinky with the passenger side?

Okay, took the cover off the pin, unscrewed it from the door. The wire had broke from the back. Connected a new piece of wire and wire connector to the pin, hooked it back up. Works good as new.
