I know it does, but if you read the manual carefully, some of the conditions that is not considered normal driving conditions is "stop and go" driving and dusty surroundings or something like that. Other than that, under "normal" it should be 7500 miles. But c'mon, does anyone not do stop and go in surroundings that are not dusty? So almost everyone has to go under the second chart of scheduled maintenance, which recommends 5000 miles.
And by the way, listen to the Manufacturer before you listen to the dealer. The dealers are dirty. My brother has his own auto shop, does my oil changes, and even does repairs, smog checks and oil changes for the dealers. He charges the dealers $10-$20 for a 4-cylinder oil change then the dealer charges the customer $30. Dealers are sneaky.
