When did CVT get introduced to the CX-5?

I'm amused because this is the same argument I bet die hard manual fans had against automatics, and later, push button shift automatics. Both of which are now considered upgrade type items. Especially the paddleshift.

Maybe, but I prefer stick to auto in the first place and I'm only 30, I didn't even learn to drive on a manual.

Guess we should take out the full spares as well.
Actually you need the weight in the back because the CX5 has a heavy front end and more weight in the back would help offset that. Taking out the spare might upset the balance. My Mazda5 has a front to back weight distribution that is closer to 50% and man does that car handle nice.

To help keep this on topic all I can say is if the CX5 had a CVT transmission that I wouldn't buy it. This Skyactiv automatic transmission that behaves more like an automated manual with none of that transmissions downfalls is one of the best automatic transmissions I have ever experienced. Its direct feel is amazingly just like a manual.

It has direct feel because it's actually doing it like a manual transmission...

X10 !

The transmission is one of the most important components in terms of driving experience and Mazda really nailed it. You can disagree with shift algorithms because you're never going to please everyone, but the actual shifting is sure to please everyone.

Whelp, obviously I'm new around here.

That was an embarrassing first post, my bad. (oops)

Don't sweet it, I'm a newbie also and one thing I noticed on this board is people are very nice and usual don't talk down to others like other boards I've been on. I think the main thing is to use the search first then ask.

Welcome from on newbie to another.
