Wheel repair (i.e. curbed wheels) locally?

I was thinking on just blasting them (down to metal) and then clear coating. No paint matching worries and I'd have "polished" or "brushed" Racing Harts....

I'll take another look at them; I'm going to bring a wheel to work tom. and have a machinist take a gander. I need to get some better light (opinion).

dimitrios, the dealer computer does not have a paint code for the racing harts :(

Ken, thanks.

Sort of a long shot, but do you think you can get a print for the wheels (i.e. dimensions, etc).

Looks like I may end up using our vertical machining Bullard (humpleg)

wow - i can try, i seriously doubt it though :(

Update: wheels dropped off at Mirror Look in Naperville (www.mirrorlook.com) on Saturday.

3-4 weeks or so (I'll be back in town by then...). (poke)

Estimated about $50/each (yeah, another $200, but whatever...). He's going to machine the curbed lips and then polish them to a matte/brushed finish...should be interesting.

Got the wheels back (repaired)

So, another $250 total later, I got the wheels back (picked them up last night on my way back from Iowa). He machined the lip down to a "matte" finish and they look phenomenal considering the previous condition. He said there's so much paint/powdercoating on these wheels. He was taking off paint/p.coating for quite a few turns.

I highly recommend this place. I would have paid easily $120+ each wheel and wouldn't have had the love this guy (Larry) put into them. Great place, this Mirror Look is (yippy) - if any of you have custom polishing or other metal working needs, hit this guy up.

Now, all I have to do is install the springs, dampers, sway bar, intake, header, midpipe, catback, things, stuff, boxes, wrenches, (blah)

thats awesome. PICS?!?!? im glad to hear it worked out.

i know what you mean. i have to put in my lip, grill, springs, wheels, brakes, repaint calipers, repair fender rust, etc....

on a side note, i took the dremel to my dg lip and it fits so much nicer now. (2thumbs)

looks like its time for some spring cleaning/repair for you two..

well me too...gotta figure out a cost effective way to fix a few dents/scratches without ruining my baby :D

like jay said, lets see some pics of the rims!

Congratulations on a fairy tale ending!

As for the mods, you should have an install day. I'm sure a bunch of us would be down for helping you out!

i have personally seen what rimfix can do. My brother in law got a big ass crack on his 18, and after 1 day and 129 flat fee, the rims looks brand new and so now he's thinking about taking the other 3 to them...(too bad he doesn't have the cash)

Yeah, it's the "flat" fee that got to me. This guy used to work for them and he told me it's nothing but profit for those places. Regardless of cracks or curb rash or damage, they charge the same. I got them repaired basically "per job".

you think they could hot coat a turbo or a header?
