Whats your favorite wax...?

I want to wax my new Mazdaspeed3. I have been a long time user of Meguiar's and I'd like to try something new or better.

At the local auto show a couple of weeks ago I saw a booth for Ibiz Wax; the sales presentation was pretty impressive...but too gimicky...
I searched online for this product and it has mixed reviews. Some people swear by it and most don't care for it.

I'm tempted to try the new Meguiar's NXT wax... Being a long time user of their Gold Class wax, I figure this new NXT should be pretty good or even better.

There is also Zymol that I've heard very good things about...

What do you guys use...? Whats your favorite...?

I just went on the Zymol website and they have a wax for $30,000!!!! Is this a joke?

Right now my new love is Black Magic paste wax. I've got a bottle of nearly everything available over the counter and have found this to be the best combination of ease-of-use and durability. I haven't tried any of the specialty mail-order-only waxes like Zaino or Klasse, as I can't see spending that much on something that will eventually be washed down the car wash drain.

IBIZ

I picked up some wax and cleaner wax at the car show. It was crazy, the guy spray-painted a display hood, let it dry and in the end, used the wax to remove the paint! I had to get some.

Removing fresh paint is easy. Let it dry overnight and then put that crap on and see what happens.

Thats the key!!! His hood is freshly wax and the fresh paint has not had enough time to adhere. I bet if he waited an hour or so...his wax wouldn't remove the over spray.

I found a few threads complaining that the Ibiz wax/cleaner did not remove roadside over spray...plus it did not last like the sales person said.

I was very tempted to buy a bottle myself...

I use (layer) P21S carnauba wax on top of Klasse Sealant. Apply by hand and wipe off shortly thereafter. Very happy with the results.

FWIW you should probably just stick with what you have been using. Silver like White is color that just does not give off "brillance" like other deeper colors when you detail the paint. I don't care what trade show hucksters or internet puffery says, one brand of wax is not going to make a difference. Just use something that you find is easy to work with and durable like BlackCherry06 said. Use it often as the sun down here is brutal on paint. Wash the car with plain water versus soap after you've spent time detailing it and the shine will last longer.

I hate dog & pony shows like that. Either his can of spray paint is fake, or his wax has mineral spirits in it.

Not too sure about that. I would say though that it was probably easier to get off right then after 5 minutes but I think I got an OKAY deal. I also got a small bottle of car wash concentrate and interior cleaner. So far I've just used the cleaner wax which did take off bug spots and road grime very easily, this was after the car was cleaned though but it looks and feels great. I also used the interior cleaner on a spot and it came off easily as well.

Apparently, it is supposed to prevent water spots but it has yet to rain since yesterday so I will have to see.

Before that, my other car used to see regular Meguiars waxes. When I ran out I used Zymol and loved how easily it worked; nice finish too!

So you liked how Zymol worked...? How does it compare to Meguiar's?

I put Zymol on my car and my friend's G35 and it didn't last through 3 washes. Another bottle taking up space in my garage. Maybe I'll wax my patio table with it.

i havent made the transition from OTC products to stuff like zaino, but i have good results with megs gold class and nxt tech.

gold class i prefer on darker colored vehicles, while i like nxt on lighter vehicles.

i apply 2 thin coats each time i wax. my car beads like a beast.
