As of now, I am searching for a bodykit... and talking to many people and seeing if I can get a custom bodykit done for my car.

Anyways... please update me and keep me posted on any news, rumors, and gossip about that.

Thanxz!!

It exists but not here. That's about the only known fact.

If it comes to the US at all, don't expect it for 2-5 years.

Where could I, if it does exist... import it from? Japan? What I've heard about the next gen mazda3 mazdaspeed version will be coming out in a year or so... though that is what I got from an article... I believe in Cars & Driver mag. (drunk)

Japn or Europe, I think. I don't know all the details. As soon as I heard it wasn't coming here any time soon, I stopped paying attention.

Dig around, see what you can find then report back!

I get Car & Driver...it's probably a different article, but please read this, it spells it out.

I doubt they will release the MS3 anytime soon.

They used the MSP as a "vehicle" (for the lack of a better term) for extending the product cycle of the Proteges.

So I guess one sentence in one paragraph of a magazine means that it's guaranteed true and that it's going to happen?

I'll believe it when I see it (or when I hear it from Mazda).

That sentence DISPROVES the bogus theories people have of the MS6 & MS3 coming to the US (at least anytime soon)...that's why I posted it.

Gotcha. My bad.

It's still just one mag's opinion, though. Who knows where they get their info?

I'm hoping they DON'T come out with it soon. Why, because I want them to design it RIGHT, test it RIGHT, and test it AGAIN RIGHT, and not rush it onto the market.

And maybe, just maybe we won't see such conservative numbers from a Turbo'd car this time.

I think the conservative numbers come more from a reliability and liability standpoint. More HP from the same engine generally means more maintenence, as well as more stupid people killing themselves.

Nothing to do but wait and see. I think I'd be happier with a moderate setup that is easily modified rather than one that is hi-po but "sealed". That would make the non-tuners happy but still allow people to tweak their ride for big numbers.

I agree with that!! (dance)

I don't agree with that. Some people like having something on a new car called a WARRANTY.

And I have absolutely no intention of driving another lesser of a car because a few people will blow up there car anyways. Yeah, comapanies always "tone" it down for reliability, but to actually purposely limit a car's potential, knowing it can succesfully handle it , is just a piss off to me. and as for the more accidents........not Mazda's or any manufactures fault. It's car, learn to drive it. Mustangs, Muscle cars in general have been out a lot longer then these imports, and they have more power, and s*** handling in comparison, and people are just fine. Gun companies sell guns. Knife companies sell make and sell knives, If your stun enough to injure yourself of someone else. Not their fault. And there lots of others ways for people to injure themselves. It's the punk ass teenager who thinks he's the hot s*** ( and his parents for raising him/her so well) that's the problem.

Anyhow,

Hey Mazda build it, and they will come!

Bad comparison. You may not have heard but people (and cities) ARE sueing the gun companies because criminals are killing people.
It's complete and utter BS but it's happening.

Sorry... guns are another passion of mine. Don't mean to preach.

Anyway, most mods will not void your warranty. That's not an issue unless you start getting completely crazy with it (NOS, super-high boost, etc). And that's stuff that has never and will never come from the factory, so it's a moot point.

I was just at the mazda dealership and I was told that it would be available in 2006, Also, they told me that installing anything that mazda speed won't void warranty as long as you have mazda do the work. Another thing I didn't quite understand was that with the mazda speed upgrades the price would be prorated for people that bought a mazda 3 now if they wanted the upgrades when they were available.

i just finished reading the latest issue of HCI magazine. they claim seats are crap
as is the straight line performance. true, my 3 won't set any records, but i feel it runs
pretty good. doe's anyone have numbers on these cars. 0-60, quarter mile, slolom
or lateral g's. did i really buy a slug?

The Mazda 3 seats are one of the best seats I've ever sat on. Sure, they're not plush and soft like some lazy boy recliner, but when you take it into corners at bad angles and very high speeds, you realize just how good the seats are. PLUS... they're very comfortable too!!

And straightline performance is averaging 8 seconds on the 0-60. That is NOT slow by any means. Maybe compared to a Porsche...

As for the Mazdaspeed 3, I really hope it gets AWD.

not true any mod that effects your engine management system can void your warranty

however they can't void your warranty if say you put lowering springs on you car and your CEL went off or you put an intake on your car and your brake calipers won't compress. or anything that you modded that didn't have any effect on the part that malfunctioned

Hey all,

I'm here in NYC and jsut got back from the International Car Show at the Jacob Javits Center. I was talking to a corporate exec who was there at the show, and she said that the Mazda3 Mazdaspeeds won't be out for atleast 2 years or so. She said that the next car that is going into "mazdaspeed" version is the Mazda6. So I guess everyone has some time to wait.
