What's running after I shut my MS3 off?

Sometimes after I turn my car off and get out of it, I hear a buzzing from under the hood for a few seconds. A friend told me it is the throttle body, I have never heard of this, he said a Mazda he used to drive did the same thing. Anyone know what this is? My wife was just getting the dog from the garage, she said she heard a "buzzing". I think it was probably the lights in the garage. I haven't driven the car in more than 5 hours, I would be more than concerned if something was switching on under the hood. I think the reason this has peaked my interest so much is that years ago, Ford had a problem with cruise control parts remaining live after the vehicle was shut down, causing fires. I think it was only related to the Explorer. I'm pretty sure Ford has little to nothing to do with the build of the MS3, but you never know. My bedroom is above the garage, I really don't want a fire and it's exactly 0 degrees, I don't want to be jumping out the window LOL!!! Any help would be appreciated.

dude settle down, you went from a buzzing sound from your car to being burned alive. I am not sure what the noise, but my car makes noises after it is turned off.

my friend and I both have speed 3's and we here it too. Not sure what it is. Sounds like a solenoid closing something.

Sometimes certain cars still run the pistons up and down even while the car is shut off or the turbo still spools automatically so it won't burn the oil and cause it to sludge. It is 99.9% more than likely your fan blowing to keep the motor cool after an extended drive.

I hear a fan everyonce in awhile on my MS3 but, never a buzzing sound.

Thanks everyone! As long as you hear something too, I'm good. I'm joking about a fire, even though I would prefer that my house and my car didn't burn up!!

it is most defiantly not a fan. it does sound like a small buzzing noise.

have to have the hood open to hear it better.

I get the same thing. Its near the fuel stuff I think. Its not the pump cause thats mechanical right? the last one anyway. Sound normal though.

Me, too, noticed it when I was installing my boost gauge and had the hood open a lot and was turning the juice on and off a lot. Comes on when you turn the key past ACC and stays on for awhile even if you turn back to ACC/off without starting the engine. I vote for the fuel pump. Might be particular to the 1600 psi units we have.

the fan... there is prolly 2. One stays on al the time one turns on at certain temp. so when you shut it off its prolly just a fan spinning.

I don't have a ms3 but I get this buzzin noise after my car has been off for 10-20 mins! It's been happening since I don't know when but it doesnt happen all the time.

I have no idea what it is, and you can hear it from like 15ft away, probably more.

It happens even before the engine is running, as soon as the juice to the ignition is turned on.

its ur radiator, put ur hand in front of the lower bumper mesh looking plastic, u can feel the fans sucking in air, its to cool down, i noticed it and put my hand near it,its normal.....

There is fuel pump in tank which sends 62?psi to 2nd fuel pump which is mechanical. Driven by motor. Off camshaft? It would be tough on a electric fuel pump to run 1600psi.
