What to you call the lady in your navigaton?

LOL. My friend has a stand-alone GPS NAV unit and I was playing with it while we were heading up north to go skiing. I tried changing the language to German, French, male, female, etc. We finally settled on the English/UK/Female because the voice sounded much sexier than the English/US/Female that sounded like an anchor woman on a local news station.

Whoah, completely independantly I started to call her Nancy too ^o^ I just go the car 2 days ago and she gave me some bulls*** directions on how to get home from the dealership (later turned out that I had the nav options so that it wouldn't take major roads or tollways). So I started cussing the thing out and calling it Nancy.(wiggle)

Seems most of the routes it takes me are on roads that don't exist, skips roads that DO exist or runs me in a five mile circle when the destination is two blocks away.

I tend to call her "Shut up" and I start pressing tons of buttons. Talk about distractions..

You'd probably hump your nav if you ever get one. It's probably not a good idea to get purchase a nav system. We all know how lonely John is.

I am about to get a Mazdaspeed 3. This wont make me not get the nav or anything. But Id rather be dissapointed now, then sitting in my driveway at 3 in the morning the night I get my car!!!

Well, you can't disable her. You can turn the volume down to 0, but it will probably still turn off the left front speaker when she is trying to say something.

Of course, if you don't give the nav something to guide you to, she has nothing to say.

I played with it on the way home. You can set the volume to "OFF" and then she is silent, and no speaker muting. You can still pushe the "voice" button and get an instruction when you want it, and the turn instructions are shown on the screen. I think you can make it do what you want.
