what tires r u using for street/track driven mazdas??

Just curious to see what tires you guys re using on your dailly driven and track/street racing mazdas? Need something to be ideal for exactly what is listed above.

I've got some crappy no name tires for my streets, and I've got Falken Azenis for autocross use.

I run Bridgestone Potenza RE070s at the track. Grip well and are wide for 225s. I can also find them cheap because they are the stock STi tire.

Other good street/track tires are the Falken Azeni, Kumho MX and Hankook RS2.

toyo proxes 4 205/45-16 stock wheels. big improvement compared to stock. first car so i've never run anything more than all season tires. those will come along with new wheels which are distant future.

I run the Falken 451 Beta or Azenis (215 or 615) on the street. The Betas are nice and cut through rain well and stick well in the dry and are in a ton or sizes.

For racing I use the 710s for autocross....for track there are many options...the Michelins are consistand, quick, and last a long long time (more than all the other track tires)....but the Toyo is as quick and a lot cheeper...the Victoracer is faster than those two and lasts a little less.

I am going to use the 215 falkens for track since they are cheep. And maybe some Toyos after I run out of those.

Kumho Ecsta MXs. I've run them on the track, and use them for street work... Great tire...

Well....just go easy on them on the open track....if you overheat them they will wear out really really quick. The MX will hold up well to heat though. Like do 3 hot laps (95%) and 1 75-80% lap to let them cool or something.

I have to do that on my race tires or else I'll overheat them as well. At the track.

In autocross, the MX is great and almost never overheats...even here in the hot ass texas heat.

I would also recommend that in a 205/50-15. That size is VERY wide for a 205 and cheep. Put it on some 15x7 or 7.5 wide wheels for good results.

Kazera has a light cheep wheel on tire rack that will work and edgeracing.com has a Falken 15x7 that is lighter I believe for cheeper. As well as the Koseis and other typical 15x7s.

I'll be trying out the Hankook RS2s at some point when I downsize to 16" wheels. Cheaper than the MXs and lots of good reviews.

Street and Track: OEM wheels and sizing.
Dunlop FM901's for the last 2 1/2 years. Loved them
Toyo Proxes T1-R. Good for street. Crap on the track. Don't waste your money.

I used some Hankook Ventus RS-2's at Mid-Ohio in the fall. It was a rainy day that ended up dry. In the rain they handled well, although I was driving very conservitive I was also passing everyone else on track. Later when it dried up I thought they gripped pretty well. My brakes got hot before my tires felt like they were sliding. Although, a shorter track where you're constantly turning may make them greasy.

I had Azenis RT-215's on my car at Waterford Hills. They handled well but got greasy after a while on track. This was a 80-90 degree sunny day and Waterford is a short twisty track. Those tires were COOKED after 80 min of track time.

how do u DD the azenis? I've had them on mine for about 6 hours (until I get my new wheels and tires) and they're loud as crap! lol. I can hear the thrum over the stereo. The car feels stable as hell on them, but the noise is a pain

I've got around 15K on the RT215's. Still pretty quiet. Still have a ton of tread left also. Getting kinda iffy in the rain though.
