what rpms to launch

well guys im sad to inform you that i did just about as bad as anyone could do at the track.. but in all fairness it was my first time ever going down a track. so kinks needed to be worked out. first launch i was way nervous and slipped at 4k, def not a good idea. i spun tire through 2, and 3rd cought. i ran a 16... i know i know horrible. but second run was launched at 2500 and caught right away, however, i let off before the track was done lol i thought the track was done at the time clock but turns out i was wrong. so i ran a 14.6 at 90mph... third run i launched again at 2500 but redlighted bc i rolled a lil bit . that got me a lil fluster so my reaction time and 60ft were effin horrible.... i ended up running a 14.7 at 94mph. this was a learning experience and thats all i really went for. i wasnt super upset that i ran like s*** just a lil disappointed. but im sure i will go back.

p.s
anyone who lives close to lebanon valley, the show pinks is going to be there i think towards the end of this month i have to look at the flyer. we should get a group to head up. sounds like a good time

aww booooo. hey dont sweat it. not a big deal. first time is always the worst time seriously. i went nervous as hell the first time i went to the track and did bad but then i realized nobody really cares unless you hit like a 12.5 or something that really blows their minds. i havent gone with the mazda yet but ill keep you posted when i do go. its beena while for me since ive gone to the track so im edgy myself. haha. beter luck next time uncletime.

Make sure you wear pants.

he said tire pressure not wardrobe. lol. i personally wouldnt change my pressure. youll be fine with stock psi, but if it makes you feel youll do better people run i think no lower than 25 psi. any lower and youll damage your tire pretty bad, or worse blow it. drop it about 10 psi, thatll be sufficient.

I know what he said but where we are going you have to wear them or you cand drive. I went with a bunch of friends in the spring and a few people didnt bring pants and the would not let them run while wearing shorts. I just didnt want him to make that mistake.

you want good 60s? Rev to 3k and slip the clutch, the second you start moving play with the clutch to get to about 3500 rpm and give it more gas and slip your way through 1st gear. this all sounds liek a lot but takes less then 2 seconds to do. im going to the track wednesday and im really going for a stock tire 1.9 60, i know i can do it....im just hoping the track is prepped. Btw the reason why i trap higher with a good 60 is because i spin through 2nd lol. my 60 is good, but im still slipping hte clutch while its pretty much floored, so when i depress the clutch and shift into 2nd its a big shock tot he tranny and 2nd gear becomes nothing but wheel hop/spin. mark my words 1.99 or bust this wednesday. my prediction 13.4 @ 106
