What rims would look nicest on a red 2002 Protege5?

:
2002 Mazda Protege5 Hatch
I am looking for a set of rims for my red 2002 protege5 that I could purchase online and have shipped to nova scotia. The car is 100% stock at the moment as I have just purchased it and am new to the forums. I am looking forward to creating a build thread of my own sometime soon.
Thanks a lot

Glad to have you here at mazdas247 (the best). have you ever tryed ebay! theres alot of nice rims....what specs were you looking for?

It's all personal choice/taste. It's your money/car so find something you like and if you aren't sure about fitment, post them up along with specs and we can help out. Key things to keep in mind are:

Bolt Pattern - 5x114.3 or 5x4.5
Offset - this will vary depending on what size wheel you choose, ie: 16", 17", 18"
Hubbore - 67.1mm is stock but you can run a wheel with a larger one. You'll just need some hubcentric rings.

Other questions to ask yourself are do you ever plan on lowering the car?...if so, what will you use?

Low Profile tires came with the p5 when originally bought, not positive on the rim specs but my best guess would be 17's. My plans are to lower the car after winter, I have not had to opportunity to do a whole lot of research although I found a set of cheaper coilovers that had a pretty good overall review and were very cheap (http://www.slickcar.com/details/4149-coilovers.asp). Mind you i'd trust the judgement of the people on mazdas247.com over site reviews.
These are the rims that I was probably going to end up getting assuming they will fit, and by the look of the multiple available sizes I think that fitting would not be a problem; (http://www.1010tires.com/wheel.asp?wheelbrand=XXR&wheelmodel=518+-+Gold)

I don't understand why you'd want to go with basically the cheapest coilover available. If you want to drop it a bit, get decent springs. If you want to drop it some more and/or get perfect handling, save up more and get good coilovers. I just can't comprehend why one would want to lose the good handling of P5's/323F Sports by fitting cheap coilovers just for the sake of improving the aesthetic looks of the car. You can have both (handling+looks) but its never going to be that cheap.

The rims look interesting though.

what makes that particular rim worse is its universal. as for the drop zone coilovers stay away from them. stay away from anything thats cheap and 90% of the stuff on ebay as well. if you have a really tight budget get some megan springs its a 2" drop. altough im not sure how the stock struts will hold up. the cheapest coilover i would get is yellowspeeds theyre around $1000. it depends on how much money you are working with and what your plans are for the car
