What piggyback does Modern Performance use?

in general fmu's=the sucksage

just adding extra injectors is not what i would call.. safer...

its just sad now days that if you want to really tune a motor you have to go stand alone... although maf base systems are nice at auto adjust, just sad now days.

did this make sence. lol

"Ain't dat duh troof!" LOL!:D

I run rich at 7 PSI but other then that it seems to be doing the job very well. I would like to lean it out or even creep the boost to 9 PSI but it seems that has claimed several engines. I really want something that can control the timing and 4 injectors, I don't care if they are bigger or not. I just don't want to be getting 10 miles a gallon when not in boost so oviously it will need fuel pressure control too.

This are not correct, you can replace your stock injectors with larger aftermarket ones. This will get you more fuel. Our system will more then handle them and you can then tune your fuel curve as needed. With our mass air kit/ MPI Tuner you never need to replace your stock ECM with a standalone and all of the problems that go with them.

Again, I do not try to change peoples minds on what they like and what they feel is right for them. All I can say is that we have been doing the extra injector setup for years. We have never seen any problems with a turbo or supercharged engine. We have 4 Mazda turbos up and running with our system sofar, by next week the 5th. All of them run as good as stock, then when the boost hits the air fuel is always spot on. No burnt plugs or head gasket problems. No fuel balance problems form port to port. The system works well 100% all of the time.

I would be more worried about the FMU washing down my cylinder walls when it hits under 11 to 1 AFR . With the larger injectors and the aftermarket computer who have a whole bunch of new problems. Running very rich at cold idle is just one of many. I would not worry about one port that may or may not be 1 or 2% leaner or richer then the next port with my extra injectors.

Thanks again

Wow, I've joined this thread wayyy late, but I've read it all and seem pretty impressed. I will probably go ahead with the purchase of this unit and will keep my stock injectors and run at 7 psi for a while- to test things out and then decide what to do about the injectors later.

I just want to run safely at 7psi on 91 octane gas (the best we get here in AZ). This is all I want for now. Will this system do it for me?

I'm guessing this system will also ileviate the "sucking/jumpy" feeling we get when we hit the gas which is caused by the ecu fighting the flow of gas- which in turn would give a smoother acceleration. Is this right Nick?

More fuel won't be added, but I was under the impression that the stock ecu is too smart for itself, and so when the car was turbo'ed and I'm boosting it realizes an abnormal amount of fuel is being requested and it actually try's to reverse the process-and pulls it back? This should only happen at full throttle since I DO have the O2 signal modify by FM.

That was at least what I got from some of the guys at FM, either that or I'm on crack. IS this not the case?

SMP!!!!!

When did you conme back?

Did you race a SRT/4 the other night?

THe stock computer can pull fuel but only by reducing it into the Injectors, I assume MP's piggy back having taken control of the stock injectors will also remove that issue all together.

Yes you are right. I did not look to see what you had done to your car. With the MPI Tuner and our mass air kit you will be able to tune your problems away.

Thanks, guys, that's all I needed to know!! hehe

Nope didn't race any "neons" the other day. I've seen a few out here though, why do you ask? Something happen?

I'm running at like 6psi right now so the car isn't too fast. Raced a few cars lately won a few lost a few. But I'm just happen to have my engine intact. ;)

THe srt boards had a story about racing a turbo MP3 in Arizona.

ohh jease... Nope haven't raced any neons. I heard of some guy with an MSP out here that races this srt4 all the time... Maybe that was what they were talking about. Either that or they saw me and my car and made it all up.

neons are gay. its still a neon. they still blow head gaskets and designed very cheaply. my dad files more design flaws on neons than almost any other car out there. i know what goes wrong with pretty much every car i am not bias i just see the facts of whats filed and know neons are crap.

wow they have lots of hp with the srt4, reliability=the crappy.

this is all IMO so dont flame, its just facts.

neons and ford explorers are the number one filed reported cars out there on the top 10 list for warrany work and engineering comparison.

oh to stay on topic, fuel managment systems are the shizzle.

The SRT 4's have proven more relaible then the MSP bro.

i never said "more problems over" the msp...

just stating. i would not buy an msp either, thats why i drive the wagon. problemless with 32K hard core miles in 11 months... no problems. period.
