Hi Guys,

I have not been impressed and Dissapointed with the lack of good customer service from the Dealership i left out of the survey.

so what are your guys impression or experiance with the other 2 Dealership's ?

Thanks

1. Gerry gordan Mazda
2. Destination Mazda

I get my car serviced at Destination. The mechanic that works on my car, Derek, is really good. Now that Guy has a Speed of his own I'm sure their overall knowledge of the Speeds will improve. They are always really good with meeting my special requests.

I'll have to admit I'm not too crazy about their hours though. I always have to miss work to bring my car in. I wish they were open at 730am and closed at 6pm.

I have heard Gerry Gordon's is worse, but I have not actually had my car serviced there.

I recently had my car services at Gerry Gordon's. The front desk service was great, spent a lot of time explaining things. Put my car right up on a hoist and dealt with the problem right then. I hate going to dealers and having to go back several times before the problem is actually fixed.

Yeah, I get my work done at Destination as well :). I pretty much agree with what Phil says, but that's like most service departments, as the average person doesn't really know much about their car.

Yes, I agree Derek's a pretty good guy, as is Guy. Both are pretty knowledgable with regards to Mazda products and are great to talk to. They are also both careful around my car, and that's super important to me; I'm really anal when it comes to that kind of stuff :).

Don, the service manager is a great guy to deal with. When I had a problem, he addressed it right away, no questions asked. His customer service is something that may dealerships lack!

I went to Gerry Gordon's for service once, and I wasn't impressed to say the least. The lady who works in serivce there doesn't know jack! I went in and told her that Mazda had released the re-flash for the Mazdaspeed and I wanted to get it, she said I couldn't have it unless my check engine light was on, only then could they do it! She also went on to say that I can't just walk in there to get something fixed if it's running fine in the first place. Of course, if she would have read the TSB put out my Mazda, she would have realized that it was to fix the hesitation issues that Mazdaspeeds were having ,and that the reflash was also to be performed on any unsold Mazdaspeeds still sitting at dealships.

Cheers.

Ya thats Me, I guess I should clarify. I Just got a 2003 p5 and have had nothing but trouble with the sales manager, very poor customer service.Have not had service work yet So can not say how there service department is.

So you went to Gauthier right? Service dpt is good, from my experience anyway. Why did you buy there if they were treating you poorly? That would be my first sign that they were not getting my business.

Its a long story, but very poor after sales customer service, and the way they treat you, and Just looking to see what Other dealership to get Service work to be done at.

I think No.5, here on the forums, got his Mazdaspeed from Gauthier; he apparently had issues with them as well. Last time I checked, he too, gets his car serviced at Destination.

You bet (just shows you how many times I actually browse the local Protege chapter).

I don't mean to bash any dealership, but speaking from experience, I felt the service I was receiving from J.G was poor. I won't go into details, but service at D.M. has been a breath of fresh air.

The drive to D.M is a very long commute for me, but in the end the satisfaction that my issues are being dealt with, is completely worth going out of my way for.

i actually had alot trouble with Jim Gauthier as well....lemme tell you they heard from me.....i actually was on my way to the dealership to go pay for my new protege and when i got there....someone told me they sold the car to someone else...when they knew i was on my way there.....F@ck i was pissed......I btched at the sales guy...forget who...the manager and sales manager.....the sales guy was almost crying....had watery eyes...pretty funny actually...but finally got my car.....but lemme tell you....i'm never goin there again! all in all....pretty bad service....but in the end i got what i wanted!

Screw Jim Gauthier Mazda........

PS....I mean that in all sense of the word too!

Look in mirror to!

I think one of the biggest problems is that people don't take the time to communicate their expectations. I have had work done at all three stores in winnipeg over the years. I was told by one southern dealership i was a pain in the ass because it took me to long to tell them what i wanted. I'm a little anal and want to make sure they know what i want, and what i don't want.
I 've seen lots of people run in, rush through a 5 second problem, then dash off...wonder why things don't get done right?

Want good service, try gauthier or destination and take the time to explain everything you want clearly "and" have the service person acknowledge that they understand what you mean, then they have an opportunity to at least live up to what you want.

Hello and thanks for everyones Feedback. I never did get service done on my car at Gauthier Because of the Way I was treated after I purchased the Car.<O:p</O:p

I can tell you I am happy with the way I was treated and the service Destination Mazda gave me and would recommend them<O:p</O:p

<O:p</O:p

Take care <O:p</O:p

Hi

If this helps, but Destination Mazda has been helpful so far. I have yet to have any service done to my MSP, but I will be going to Destination for the following reasons.

1. Service manager treated me well and answered all my questions while looking into my eyes, even though I did not buy my MSP from them.
2. One of their mechanics bought a 2003.5 MSP (same make as mine)
3. Close to home
4. I've seen their shop, very clean and appears to be well managed

hope this helps

i too bought my car from jim gautier, what a joke that place is, they treat you like s*** after you give them your money. they screwed me over 2 times so far so im going to try gerry gordons mazda, i have heard good things about them.

I posted a forum up eariler about which dealership i should purchase from. I've been to all 3 dealerships and I've had some experiences that I thought I'd give you guys a heads up on!!!!
Not to bash any dealerships but Gerry Gordon's gave me the worst service that I've ever recived and Destination was good until I met the Sales Manager. Let's just say that they gave me a good price and good service, that I was ready to buy until I met the Manager then it all went down hill. The guy was an @sshole! Then i went to Gauthiers. From what everyone was saying i was kinda scared to go there but i had to check it out. But to tell you the truth it was the best service that I've recived at any dealership. I was told that the sales manager was a b**** to deal with but he was kool about everything. Then i found out that he just started working there a week ago. So i guess they fired that A$$HOLE!!!! And my guess was right cause I asked 1 of the sales people and they told me they had alot of complaints about him so he got canned! lol

Anyways i bought the car from there so.........

I know everyone bashes Gauthiers but i had the best service there so that's something to think about. Go check it out for yourselves!!!!!

Well I am glad you Got Good service, But in MY case there nice and good Till after they Received my Money then Everything after was very poor after sales, Whats the New Sales Manager's Name if you Remember ?

Cory Dyck hey? Hmm. I wonder if there is any relation to the previous sales manager Ryan Dyck. Anyway he was really cool as well.

Gerry Gordon's

I had my 99 Protege towed to Gerry Gordon's as it stalled. I asked them to call me during the day re the problem but nobody called. I called after the service closed and they got the service manager on his cell. He told me there was a short in the wire to the O2 sensor and they were waiting for the shield. The next day I had to wait until noon to pick the car up. I noted a charge for 3 fuses (they kept burning out) and over 3 hundred dollars for labour. The next week a PR person called about the service when I was not home. It took a week for me to get her on the line. When I said I wanted a better explanation of the charges she said the service manager would call me. He never did. We had examined the car later and found that you cannot replace the wire without replacing the O2 sensor. So what was tha labour charge for? sensor and labour? I sent a letter to Gerry Gordon before this on another matter and have not received a reply and I have not reeceived a reply to this matter either. Needless to say I will nver set foot in Gerry Gordon's again. I have bought my first and last Mazda.
