What is this? Plate says Mental Addiction Motorsports

03.5 MSP, Magnaflow Muffler, and that's about it, I think....

Not too long ago I started hearing what sounded like an exhaust leak while under acceleration. I jacked up the front end and looked around the exhaust pipe for any obvious signs of leakage.

The attached photo is what I found. There is also a small plate behind the woven canister looking piece that says Mental Addiction Motorsports. And there seems to be a bit of rust around the front flange. I started the car up and felt air/exhaust coming out of the rusty spot. Question: what is this? And is it possible to patch it up to seal off the leak?

Thanks in advance for any insight you all may be able to give.

thats a flex pipe, so the exhaust can move and not crack
you should be able to run some beads over the leak and be fine (once you get rid of the rust of course)

Anal beads!!!
Didn't you know they stop all kinds of leaks!! LOL

Are you sure it has a Magnaflow exhaust.
I would think that if some installed a MAM midpipe they might have the whole exhaust???
FYI to OP
MAM parts are great and very hard to find. I've never seen just a MAM flex pipe, or just a MAM midpipe for that matter, can you post more pics??

MAM made midpipes, i used to have one. i dont believe they ever made a catback tho

I guess I'm comfusing MAM with something else. was there midpipe 2.5" or 3"

I have a cat so I'm thinking it's the 2.5". And I'm pretty darn sure it's a Magnaflow muffler. Unless my eyes deceived me while I was on my back under the car. I know it started with an "M".

I'll double check on Saturday when it's on the lift. I'll be sure to take some more pics too.

Thanks again guys!!!

Your probably right, since the concensus seems to point that MAM never made a full exhaust. I could also understand why Sleepy called the vibrant an upgrade since he would have been going from a 2.5" to 3"
thanks for the education!!!!
