What is this hose for?

Hey, quick question. What is the second hose that is attached to the stock intake. I know the the BPV is one (duh), so what is the second little hose that goes on the stock intake? Sorry don't have a pic right now.

Thanks, I doing my hardpipes now, and I guess I didn't notice there is a second hose connected to the stock intake. Just curious to what its for.

crankcase ventilation hose maybe...goes from the crankcase back to the intake...could get rid of it and use a breather filter if you wanted to

autozone. just ask for their breather filter section. i don't even think there is a part # , it's universal part

Thats the one, what size diameter is that?
can't remember just bring in the hose and match it up. There's not a big variety on them so it's not too hard to eyeball it

I would not use a breather in that location, copy the factory routing on this one........... It will payoff in the long run and allow the car to operate as it should.......

the reason I am using the breather filter: some have experienced oli leaking back into the CAI, not running that line back into the intake will prevent this from happening.

You can always use a catch can in between their. Mine has a breather filter though, cause there isn't a nipple on my intake pipe for a hose to be run.

Payoff nothing....it just routes the vaporized oil to be burned in the intake tract...using a breather filter or a catch can will keep the engine cleaner

So, a breather filter on the crankcase ventilation port will not cause any vacuum or idle issues? This does not allow unmetered air into the system? I always just assumed that it would cause problems.

Oh, by the way, if you guys do this, don't forget to plug off the nipple on the intake. If you don't, that will definitely cause problems, lol.

there's no vacuum on the crankcase ventilation...using a breather filter or catch can will NOT cause idle issues....it simply vents off crankcase gases which are basically vaporized oil....has absolutely NOTHING to do with the combustion chamber and how much air is getting in or out of the system...this is NOT part of the vacuum system on the car

i ran a breather for about 2 years, when i decided to take it off, i cut it in half to see what kind of crap built up in there. to my surprise there wasn't much inside. slight film of oil... that's about it.

a breather filter will not hurt anything. I've ran them on all sort of cars, and never had idle issues, or anything of that nature.

right on. all the valve cover is open to is the camshafts and stuff. I had a breather filter on for a while but got another intake and didn't feel like being ghetto and putting tape over the nipple on the intake so I just put the hose back in.

I got a cheap one off ebay and put it on when I did my hardpipes last weekend. The only thing I had to do was shave the engine cover a bit so that it would clear it.
