What is the Cheapest small-size vehivle to insure?

Currently I'm insured under my parents plan for the Protege (2002) and a Minivan (2000 Caravan). I've often heard it's cheaper to get a older vehicle and have it insured under my own policy than to be insured with my rents. I'm 18 years old with 2 years driving experience... I'm heading into Univercity next year, and I think it'd be easier to have my own car than to take the c-train. (c-train's a hassel, time, can't go anywhere etc.) So can anyone suggest a cheap reliable vehicle to insure? I'm thinking at about 5000$ CAD. or less.

geo metro berlin or the suzuki equivalent might do it for you... if you say ''it's ugly!'' well yes, but, because it's ugly, chances of getting stolen are low, so lower insurance...
