I just bought my Mazda 6, have 4000 miles on it, and the check engine light came on. I was on a trip, and didn't have any idea whether it was serious, or just a sensor glitch.
It turned out to not be serious - when I finally got it in to a Mazda dealer a week later (I tried to get it in earlier, but they were busy) they said that the code just meant that there was corrupt data in the car's computer.
Next time though, I would like to know what is going on. I would also like to see what's going on with the engine while driving the car.
What is the best OBDII readout to get?
I also wouldn't mind putting a laptop in the car with an OBDII interface if that is a better way to go.
Thanks,
Curt
