So forum, ive been reading many mods done by other members and i always see this phrase in all of them. "VTCS REMOVAL" what is this, what is related to, how does it help you? I seriously have no clue abt it.

It removes the butterfly valves in your intake manifold. The only reason I would do it is because there is 4 little screws per valve and they have been known to come loose and go into your block. I never did it so I dont know the performance value in doing it.

what are butterfly valves? I dont get it, even a bit. Probably someone has a thread on this with all the instructions. The job sounds tough.

If it sounds tough, its not for you. Dont do something you dont know what the consequences will result in. Searching the forum on "VTCS" or Variable Tumble Control System will yield results for you.

Here, search this specific topic, " ViCS vs VTCS with PICS! " Took me less than 30 seconds to find using the search on the forum. Post #23 in there will explain what they do.

Then you can learn about ViCS as well.

VICS = Variable Inertia Charging System

VTCS = Variable Tumble Control System

These valves sit just before the cylinder head. This is completely closed:

Completely open:

Even completely open, they still present a slight flow restriction.

Removed vs stock:

The MP3 comes stock without these butterflies and is part of the equation for its marginally increased power.

If you can't take 30 seconds to search for one of the most widely-discussed mods on these forums, then you definitely don't have the time to do this mod.

i did alot of research, whenever i post a thread i first look into the forum before posting. But every thread for vtcs removal didnt have a definition of what it really was.

If you had researched here effectively, you would have found that............

VTCS = 10 seconds of cold start emissions help, useless clattering & air flow impedence. What more is there to explain about it? (that's not really a question) REMOVE THIS s***.

VICS = air flow routing thru intake manifold depending on rpm to maintain torque thru powerband & screws that fall off, get sucked into cylinders, stamped flat by piston & spit onto the screen of 1st cat eventually, after scoring cylinder walls and smashing spark plug tips and ******* up compression. RED LOCTITE ALL THE BUTTERFLY SCREWS AND LEAVE IT ALONE.

It's all here in plenty of threads........look, 5 seconds of search on "VTCS" and there ya go, VTCS explained in the first post, check it out...

The 2nd post in that same thread clarifies questions of which one to keep and which to remove. Glad I could help.

ok, well i'm not gonna rag on you, it just really gets under my skin when people don't take 2 seconds to search for something.
