What is a good three season tire?

I've got a 2016 grand touring with the 19" wheels, I'm due for some new tires pretty soon. I have a separate set of wheels with snow tires, so I don't need an all-season tire for snow duty. I know the Crossclimate 2 are the default recommendation, but since I don't need snow performance I could get something a bit more summer orientated. The two I'm looking at are the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 or the Pirelli P Zero All Season plus. Tire Rack has the Michelin's rated higher, and they are available at my local Costco which is a plus for me. Does anyone have experience with either of these tires or can recommend something else that would fit my needs? Thanks in advance!

I've got about 1000 miles on Continental CrossContact LX25s and find they've been pretty great so far in terms of grip, road noise, and MPG. Like you, I don't need snow performance. I also got them on sale at Tire Rack and received a $110 rebate gift card.

Like N7turbo mentioned, Michelin isn't the best when it comes to noise and comfort but the performance is really good. Personally I would go with the PS4 All Seasons.

I had the Michelon Primacy Tour AS, the new Pirelli 3 AS and currently have the Michelin ps4 all season. All 3 are quiet but on different road each had its tone. The PS4 is more adequate for the turbo model while the Primacy Tour AS for the non turbo and has best mpg. The Pirelli has best ride. They are all ages ahead than the stock Toyo.

I have a light truck with Pilot Sports AS 4 All Season. They are are not all season- only 3 and stick like *Fracking Hell*. It's a handful in turns because the body roll can't keep up. They do not squeale until they they give up.

Have life long friends with Porches and Cadilac CT-6 Vee's running Pilot Sports.

Which ones? The HP71s seem to be a solid middle of the road choice and have great rebates at times.

I got them end of season last year for a great deal.
Put them when I swapped out my snows...
Like I said, so far they've been great.. hopefully they work out great in the winter. If not I still have dedicated snow tires on rims, I can just swap out.

Wasn't impressed with the Continental TrueContact Tour A/S EcoPlus (in 225/55HR19 99H sizing). A low-mileage set came on the pre-owned CX-5 I purchased 4yrs ago. Insufficient grip on colder mornings, let alone any frost or light snow. Even on damp or drizzly roadways they weren't grippy. They didn't have but ~5-8Kmi on them, at the time.

Read the owner's reviews (ignore one with few total miles... could be fake).
Been doing that for decades, even if I don't buy from tirerack.com every time.

Hi there,

I'm considering Primacy AS Tour or Primacy AS tires for my CX-5 GS with Yokohama Geolandar G91 225 65 17 tires.

I'm told the AS is available but not the AS Tour. Which is quieter? I'm surprised Pirelli 3 AS is as quiet with better ride. The Pirelli reps told my they don't make PNCS (acoustic foam tires) for the CX-5 with 17" rims?

I'm curious I love a much smoother (cushy, floaty) ride and quiet (no tire cavity road noise).

Look at Yokohama Advan Sport AS. This is the 4th summer in a row I have not swapped on my Pilot Super Sport summer tires onto my Miata because the Yokos are so good.

I run a few extra psi (4?) to stiffen the sidewalls.

Not sure if you got your new tires or not, but I LOVE the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4s. The road grip they have is extraordinary, even in the wet. Like you I have a seperate setup for winter, so these tires are perfect for me for not-winter. The ONLY drawback is with the extraordinary grip comes lesser gas mileage than other all seasons gave me. Worth the tradeoff IMO.

I noticed my gas mileage took a hit, too. I assumed I just needed a tune after the turbo inlet pipe, but the tires (DWS06 Plus) are a culprit as well.
