Im not into v8s at all, but the last time I checked the WS6 Transam Is just an aerokitted version of the regular 8........not an LS1, Im not sure what has the LS1 in it? The formula version? I know the SS camaros have the LS1, I didnt think the birds had it........But then again Im not into them enough to know exactly......

All 1998 on up Z28's, SS's, WS6, Regular Trans Am and the Firehawks all had LS1's from 1998 on to 2002. The SS and WS-6 Trans Am had the 325 HP 350 FT LB underrated motors in them. Z28's and regular Trans Am's had slightly less HP due to lacking the ram air hood and SLP exhaust. They're weight distribution was better than a mustangs to boot making them pretty easy to launch on a drag strip. The Older LT1's are no slouch either with basic bolt ons.

On another note. You guys REALLY need to take your cars to the drag strip. Street racing is just going to hurt people and get our insurance rates up. Living in Florida where the tracks can be open year round, you really have no excuse not to.

its a rush , just race unfolds unexpectedly. i dont drive like a jackass i only do it on openn road. not when there are too many ppl. i wil take to the track soon. prob put my sheet on here

lol Well like I said Im not big on v8s and dont know much about them.... I thought the 96 formuals had 285hp and I thought that was thier top firebird, becuase I heard the formulas were the $hit back in the day...But I guess Im wrong? Time to go on autotrader and find the specs ;) lol Have a good day everyone. I wanna pick on STIs when I get some mods!

Make your own slaloms in the snow!

why do you think you need mod to kill an sti??? (poke) They slow as hell at high speed. Yes they will get you from a dead stop but from a roll you'll just go faster. their awd system is heavy ... and much more loss in the visco-coupling system (typically 20-25%) than in our fwd tranny (wich is 16-20%).

this baby is just fast.... real fast (headbang)

What's the point of racing that fast ever?

Thats true they do lose a lot more power to the wheels, But they dyno at 245 while the speed3 is around 219......It seems we lose about the same %. At high speeds the MS3 is fast but pulling upto an STi on the freeway wont be picking on it......It will more be a test of might, lol, with some good solid mods though Im curious to see just how well I would do.........I am very eager to race an Evo on the freeway though, But not the new ones in store that run 12.6s in the 1/4mi :'''( A buddy of mines got an Evo, but he never drives "fast" in it, just autox's........

Also picking on a Wrx in all means is fair, it cost more than my sport, and we have the same QMT, but stock for stock it cant keep up on the freeway :)

Damn you guys and your MS3s!! Although, the last time I had snow like that in my wheels it was because I just freed it from being stuck a couple winters ago. LOL. No more winters in this thing.

Firebird Formulas were just the Firebird with a V8 in it. The Trans Am package added the different bodywork and suspension goodies.

It appears all you MS3 owners are getting drunk with power and picking fights. I better start saving up for my 06 GTO so I can put all you smug buggers in your places! (glare)

Be safe out there guys.

its because alot of us came from driving slow as s*** proteges. We got tired of being picked on by all the WRX's, STI's, Hondas even!

Now its time to get even. (enguard) (first)

but really though.. I dont really race on the streets.. only when stupid ricers fly by me with loud exhausts.. I just catch up then hang.. they know they cant beat me already. They dont even try.

Hey now! Some of us still drive and love our slow P5's, even if we did perhaps maybe get smoked by lightly modded Yaris hatch....(sad2)

be an asshole, i would have loived to see what it can do against a m3 is all i meant. today i heard my car make the wierdest noise....i stoped to let it cool down and i heard a wietrd clicking every now and then and then it stopped. my guess was the water pump or seomthing for the turbo because it came from behind the intercooler. im nto familiar with the water cool system but i heard clicking.....

You know Lisa im missing the P5 right now. I miss the steering and the fun, flying feeling on the freeway. Im bored going 80 now, where as in the p5 i was getting all worked up and having fun traveling 80. My poor girl, i hope she went to someone good and not some scumbag auction. I want her back. Anyone wanna cover her 40 dollar payments if i buy her back?

My car makes that noise every time I finish driving it. .. as does my mom's altima SE-R, my sister's Maxima.. the list goes on. .. none of those cars are turbo (yet (glare)). It's just the sound of really hot metal cooling down and changing size :)

i havent got my ms3 yet because im waiting on the cosmic blue mica color. I jsut want to know what you guys have been racing and if you won or not.

I'm a newbie here, but I REALLY hope no one in here is taking this sh*t to the streets. I think anyone who lacks the brains to restrain themselves on public roads doesn't deserve this car or a driver's license. Simply put: you're an idiot if you do it.

There are plenty of car clubs that allow you to sign up for track days at road courses around the country and there are also plenty of legal drag strips. There is zero excuse to put people's lives in danger simply because you can't control your immature ego.

Here's where you can learn to to be a better driver and more responsible:

I agree with you 100%, but can you honestly tell me that you've never EVER broken the speed limit? Or hit the gas a little harder than you should cuz you need to get over into the merging lane? Street Racing is bad, dangerous and silly, but I believe at one time or another in our lives, we've given our cars the boot.

Apples and oranges. I'm not exactly a firm believer of posted speed limits, but I also know when and where you can do things safely. Really how many more stories do we need to read about with some moron who wasted 3 people's lives to prove he has a bigger weenie than the kid in the STi? You add two people - which I guarantee you 99% of the time are young, inexperienced drivers - and let them drag, they are putting more people's lives at risk and neither one can handle it if something goes wrong.

And for the record, I'm 34 and have not once street raced any of my cars.
