What have you done to your P5 today?

Does anyone know what are the differences between the EDM and USDM bumper?

I mean, the skin of the bumper is obviously different and the USDM one extends out a little bit more, but are there any fitment related issues that might come to play when changing from one to the other?

Here's a pic for reference:

its swaps right on with no issues, you need to shorten the exhaust a bunch and make sure you get the EDM rear crashbar.

How much did it run you? Also where did you get it?
it costed me around ~200 for the calipers, oem brembo blanks, and ceramic pads. I pieced it together off craigslist, and ebay. i still need to get some stainless braided lines before i put everything on though.

shipping is free too

you didnt want the larger rotor from the 2007+?
from what i read 06+ was 11.8" or are they bigger? idk lol either way i got a really good deal on these calipers

That's less of a knob and more of a stick :S

I've been using a Mitsubishi weighted shift knob for the past few months and I really love it. I used the stock knob a week ago; it's a night and day difference.

Found this today.... picked up two new tires(Nexen 225/40/18 $100 for both) but won't be able to put them on till next Saturday. Looks like I have to get an alignment as well.

Got it dynoed yesterday. Conditions were perfect for a high number pull though so it's like cheating. Dynojet + 68' weather = 168whp and 160lbs torque on my JDM KLDE. I'm happy with those though. :)

Had my first track experience today, parade lap(s) at Mid-Ohio! What an AWESOME experience, even though I had 5 lawn chairs, a cooler, bags of snacks, couple hoodies, and my sub box in the back, as well as my brother (320lbs) and friend (150) with me in the car. hahaha There were some REALLY big gaps in the cars that allowed me to have some fun on the track. :)

Definitely has me thinking about some legit track time, but I still worry about keeping it operational for DD use...lol

Yea im gonna have to buy a oil pn gasket. RTV just isnt working for me.
I drove it 3 hours yesterday non stop, and at every light, it would smell like burning oil inside the cabin....soOOO annoying.
and Im thinking about converting the oil pan bolts to studs and nuts....anybody ever done this?

You don't need to remove the timing belt when replacing the water pump? I haven't worked on an FS much so I can't remember. I'm a little skeptical. Heh-heh.

I'm off to wash my P5 and get her clean so she can get all dusty at Mid-Ohio tomorrow.

Yes, I do Carry a full tool set in my car, however I did get some loaner tools from the autoparts store. Yes you do have to remove the timing belt in order to replace the water pump. As long as you don't move anything while taking the timing belt off, you'll have no issues. I replaced the timing belt yesterday as per I saw how worn out this one was when I had it off......pain in the ass.

Hasn't happened yet, but I am getting the car in a shop on Wednesday to get the engine replaced. I can't wait to have the car back. Other than the VW being in the shop for negligence on the Dealer's side of repairs and living in a hotel since the middle of August. Damn I need to find a place to live soon.

Water pump seized up on freeway, broke belt, voltage starts dropping, water temp increasing. Pull off to side of road, cant reach anyone at 5 in the morning. Walk to auto parts store, purchase new water pump, antifreeze, and a new belt. Proceed to change water pump on side of road.....get it fixed....only 3 hours late to work, this included going home and taking a shower and changing clothes.......damn that sucked!

Wow, nice work!
