I DID use the red backed 3M from autozone which is why I was like WTFFFF. But at the same time it was really hot the day I installed them and the day after and because the pod didn't fit over the stock A-Pillar I took it off and taped it directly to the metal body.
But yesterday I went outside (it was nice a cool out) and put the stock A-Pillar back on and double sided taped the bejesus out of it. It seems to be holding up, but it hasn't been as ho out since so we'll have to see. I might throw some Velcro on it instead though as it looked like the previous owner of the pod had both on his car. Thanks guys!

^It's very important to properly clean the surface before applying double-sided tape. Any grease or grit will make the tape fail.

The double sided tape tends to not stick well on heavily textured surfaces such as the pillars. Especially if it is hot out. I think the issue arises from air begging trapped under the tape in the texture, when it gets hot the air expands enough to make it not stick. The other way I have seen it done is to drill small holes through each and use "Christmas tree" pop in holders like you find on most of the interior pieces. Mine has stayed fine, I did have to trim it a little to make it fit better on the pillar.

Better check the front axle seals. I bet they are leaking. I have an 05 and its a common problem. What engine?

Did not do this... *facepalm*
I believe the previous owner already trimmed it down, and there is no obvious place for me to install the xmas tree pins to the gauge pod. I'm going to have to remove it again when I install whatever 3rd gauge I choose and finally hook up the oil gauge. I just don't need this thing to keep smacking me in the head while I'm driving anymore you know?

Unless he wants to make a bumblebeemobile I think it looks stupid (and it's less safe for night driving). Even the blacked-out Protege5 badge is a bit much imo.
But I've been told I have no sense of style sooo, take my advice for what it's worth
I don't plan on tinting my tails. If I did it would just be one or two light coats- not dark at all, just a light tint like 60% window tint.
And my Protege5 badge isn't painted, it's just a long-distance crappy cell phone pic lol. I had thought about painting my emblems, but I think I will just leave them alone. I like the way it looks now- except for that off-road stance!
It's crazy- I work at a Goodyear repair shop and I've seen several Protege sedans come in for wheel bearings, but haven't had any P5s come in for that yet! And I'm glad mine are trouble-free! (Knocks on wood)

I replaced both wheel bearings about a month ago, cost me a bit of money.
I got my P5 exactly a month ago & Love it!!! So far I dropped it 2", 5% tint all the way around & i sanded down any imperfections in my rims & layed down a bass of black. This weekend im licking them in a gloss black & pin striping the edge red!!! Watch out, give me a cpl months & i promise you I will have the cleanest P5 in Miami. Im an Ex Mini trucker with a ton of ideas that im bringing to the JDM game!!!
I bought my P5 with 84k miles and I'm at 134k miles and I haven't needed to replace mine. Yet. (knock on wood as well)
I wonder why some cars chew up wheels bearings faster than others? Phens MSM needed them around 60k miles and my buddies Rabbit needed them at 38k miles. Weird.
