^It's very important to properly clean the surface before applying double-sided tape. Any grease or grit will make the tape fail.
The double sided tape tends to not stick well on heavily textured surfaces such as the pillars. Especially if it is hot out. I think the issue arises from air begging trapped under the tape in the texture, when it gets hot the air expands enough to make it not stick. The other way I have seen it done is to drill small holes through each and use "Christmas tree" pop in holders like you find on most of the interior pieces. Mine has stayed fine, I did have to trim it a little to make it fit better on the pillar.

Now don't screw up a good thing by blacking out those tail lights!
Unless he wants to make a bumblebeemobile I think it looks stupid (and it's less safe for night driving). Even the blacked-out Protege5 badge is a bit much imo.
But I've been told I have no sense of style sooo, take my advice for what it's worth![]()
