What have you done to your P5 today?

^ Are you running stock shifter or short shifter? From what I can tell just from the 20 mins of city driving I just got done doing, it does seem to reduce shifter play, although I just installed a short shifter at the same time.

If you are already running a short shifter, you will only need 2 of the bushings, of which I have left over since the short shifters don't use them ;)

Said **** it and cut my heatshiled off to install the short shifter. Along with finishing that off, I also installed some Corksport bronze-oil bushings at the other end along with Kartboy poly bushings.

ya know, I did the same damn thing and thought, "s***, I 'll be fine, how hot can the exhaust get right there." Well the shifter feel is fine when the car is cold, but as it heats up, it gets really stiff. I wish i would have left it on now. It didnt happen right away tho, so hopefully I am wrong and it is just something else. I have the Kartboys, but no Bronzoil.

yeah ive got the twm shifter and poly bushings. just has that little bit of play left and right that i dont like so much

Mine doesnt get stiff (boom07) *snickers* but since I dont have a heatshield and I'm running completely catless that ****** will burn you....

yea, you're right. maybe I'm the one getting stiff!!! The cooler weather has been awsome lately. The car seems to be a bit more responsive than when we had 90*+ temps.

Just paid for these can't wait to get them and get started on my project.

dam dude, thats whats up...i would have gone with a diff offset but that size should look good on the car

and today i re-cleared my CF hood, came out great, just a little trash in the clear (sprayed it in my garage so that was expected lol) and a little orange peel,
not sure why but i always get orange peel when i spray in the garage, ill post some pics once i have it on the car :)

If it's any advice, I would say put your cheapest gauge there...mine gets really wet from the AC, so if anything the cheapest one will get destroyed...looking good though...

hey, some advice about orange peel, you just need a little more flow in the clear. You might be spraying at too high of atomizing pressure. Or the gun is too far away from the part you're spraying. the clear is just hanging up and needs to have a little help with gravity. surface tension causes it to hang up unevenly, so adding a slower solvent like toluene, or xylene will really do the trick.

Lol...spent to much already...have limited myself again...only buying to sell now...unless you tempt me with something INSANE, but then again, I don't think I will need 5 gauges...

thanks for the tips, i think it had to do with the bad lighting too, i had to get parallel to the hood with my face just so i could see where i sprayed lol
im pretty good at color sanding so im not too worried about the orange peel at all...

the clear actually covered the places where there was bare cf VERY well, cant tell i sanded all the gel coat off right there at all, which is awesome
overall, im happy with the hood for what i paid for it brand new...which was $129 lol

edit: and now that i think about it, i was spraying at like 60psi..pretty high, but i was using a small air hose so i kinda had to to get it to spray out right lol
