What have you done to your P5 today?

Will going from 5mm to 8mm give me enough adjustment you think? Basically my goal is to get the wheels negative enough that I won't rub.

Anyone else have any comments? I just wanna make sure that this will work.

Also, will stacking a 3mm spacer on top of a 5mm spacer give me any issues?

Welp, yesterday was my birthday and...

Another Forum I'm on said:
Well, I was on my way home from Best Buy getting Split/Second as a self birthday gift and was maybe 2 miles from my house about to make a left turn. Just as the line in front of me was beginning to move, and myself as well (maybe 1mph tops at the time), I noticed that in the rear view an Explorer Sport Track get hit from behind and I had no where to go so, I got hit.

As soon as I got out of the car (which moved quite a bit) I went into First Responder Mode and made sure that the driver of the Explorer and his son (maybe 12 or 13) were okay, then checked on the driver of the car that started the accident before calling the police.

But yeah, here are the pics:

The Driver of the car that caused the accident and a couple angles of that:

My Car (and a shot of my tail light pieces and the guy's front license plate from where he hit me):

So before getting the estimate on what the lady's insurance will be paying for (I will accept nothing but brand new dealer parts for the repairs) I'm thinking rear bumper, driver's side tail light, and maybe (though doubtful) a new hatch if they can't get the license plate frame put back 100% like it never happened without the use of bondo, tape, or any kind of re-drilling/glue. And now that I think about it, the hatch on the car doesn't open/close right and I think it may just be because of the bumper, but now I have a few things wrong with the car mechanically like a CEL that is stuck on and issues shifting around 2k rpm, but I will let them know about that.

I guess it's bad that I hope there is something wrong with the exhaust so I can order a JIC Magic Cat Back for the car lol.

she had to finish up that text she was writing when she slammed into the explorer no doubt...

the ironic part is that she had just let the explorer in front of her not 20 seconds beforehand and then boom!

Women drivers!!!! Damn that is lame, when I got in a wreck they totalled my car out. If you need new tails I have a mint set in my closet.

i have the right to use whatever parts i want on my car to fix it... so im going with either OEM or JDM brand new everything, if not, then i will take a check for the amount to get it all

They will pay you what they have in their book of OEM replacement parts and the quote from the body shop. You can't just get reimbursed for whatever you want. You can use the money they give you to buy whatever parts you want tho... You just may have to cover the difference (if there is one).

that's only if i take it to a shop that isn't on their list. i can go through their shops and get the parts that i want... but yeah, i don't do aftermarket parts unless they are performance, since aftermarket bumper replacements are usually chipping/breaking after a few years whereas OEM parts actually last like they should

That air sound is normal for a gas strut. The test is to push down on the car and it should rebound back up without bouncing. Even driving it you can tell if it bounces more than once over dips or bumps.

I kind of figured it was normal but just figured to ask. I havnt had my windows down much when going over speed bumps to hear anything in the past. the car is at 96k now and just didnt know if it was already time to replace more struts. I know for a fact one was done when i got the car last year and I think another was done on the car when I was peaking around underneath. When another strut goes I will spend the extra money and lower it

PAID IT OFF!!!!!!!!!!

congrats! Im doing all I can now to just pay mine off before I really even think about modding it further. all the money needs to go towards owning the car and maintaining it. then next summer I will do some more mods

for now my stock 16's are going back on. the rx-8s are probably gonna just get fresh powdercoat and tires. only place that can seem to fix them is 225 for 2 wheels. i will probably just see how it goes without fixing them lol.

Try fixing them before powdercoating...that way you can get it worked out...that is hella expensive to fix...you can see the leaks when you submerge them...like I said, the leak is super slow, but you can see where it is coming from...

Did you ever get that money...

idk man...i really dont feel like paying that much to fix them and then have them powdercoated...the guys at the tire shop said they got some sealer they could try. i might give the guy a call and explain just how messed up they arent see if he'll cut me a deal or something. yeah my 6 dollars FINALLY GOT HERE. lol.

scraped my lip on a speed bump today :(
totally forgot i put my stock rims back on and lowered the coils all the way, so i came up on the speed bump kinda quick like i normally do and then just scraped right over lol, its not that bad at all
but i have to get used to driving my car around again haha

Are you going to actual rim shops...I have always gotten mine fixed by my Columbian mechanic...just point and try to describe to him what is wrong in the little English he knows...
