What have you done to your P5 today?

first was the front main cracked

then it got a new headgasket

then it spun a bearing so i got a new "JDM block"

Just finished installing my Alpine headunit. You couldn't pay me to do this install again, the damn radio took me an hour to remove. Only took me 20 minutes to wire up the harnesses and put the radio inside the dash kit!

On a good note, it looks and sounds great. Pics tomorrow.

oh, and an even cooler thing, as they put the car back up in the air to find out where the grinding noise was coming from, they started hitting the plastic under trays and 2 nuts fell out.

The yong kid picked em up and kinda put em in his pocket. I asked where they went and he said i don't need em with the new motor and walked off.......

oh, and i had to pay for an alignment cause they took the subframe apart to drop the motor out the bottom

Ok TY. I thought you swore by this mechanic, sounds more like he needs sworn at. They obviously have screwed up one of your ABS sensors if the ABS and brake lights are on. I think I would be inclined to have somebody else give this job a second look when you get the car back, from what you describe I wouldn't have too much confidence in what they did.

Pat.

Trust me, after this deal, i'm looking for a new mechanic.

He's done me right in the past, but, this time, he's had the "New guy" working on my car

and i'm not paying another mechanic to look at something that SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED under warranty

Got the car lifted up, battery out, basic stuff.

All for the turbo uninstall that I will be doing tomorrow. Car is going back to stock. Fs thread in the near future!

test fitted 18x9 +38 wheels on the front of my wagon while removing my spacers and s*** tonight.

and holy s*** it coukld work at full camber! 18x9 +38 with 225/40/18 federals "fit" but did hit barely on the caliper and coilover spring perch. so "wheel"x9 +35 with alot of camber and maybe some 215/45/"wheel" will fit!

siiiiick.
no pics sorry

wtf?! i just posted at 11:30 and it said i posted at 6:09 or some s*** ha ha

haha no one. I'm actually on the road for work, and found it on craigslist just outside of Phoenix. The guy said it has about 3 months of use on it. Only thing is I may not be home for another month or so, so not sure when I'll actually get to install it.

I live in AZ and he just kept lowering the price.

Yeah, I noticed it had been on there for a while. I figured he was having a hard time finding someone who wanted it. You weren't interested in it at all? Should I be worried for any reason? It looks like it's in real good shape but honestly I won't know if it was a good deal for sure until I install it.

Hey slide Post some pics! Im interested in getting some 18X9s but was unsure if there would be major fitment problems.

nice! i test fitted some 16x9 keskin kt1 wheels, +15offset, 215/40/16 tires.. but it looked bad and stuck out too far so i didnt take pics

Did the air intake cutout of the grill cover mod, wow completely changed the cars attitude when letting off the gas. Especially in 1st and 2nd gears, doesn't slam my face into the steering wheel if I let off too quick.

Installed my ac discharge line from xDJ DuBx, now need to get the system pumped out so I can refill it.

Great transaction by the way and prompt shipping.

Glad you were happy with your experience good sir, if you change your mind about the other parts, just let me know (2thumbs)

Ah I didn't take any pics because they were hitting everything ha ha.
You can fit 9's up front but only with +35 or lower I bet. +38 hit just barely on caliper and coilover perch. I wanna test fit 9's on the rear next.ill try to get pics up sometime

alright, i am about the happiest person ever right now

All said and done i got a zero miles FS-ZE for $198 total

that is the motor, install, alignment, and rental car

I still have a problem with the shifter (i got under hte car, it is mounted how it should) but it is still too far forwards, so, i'm gonna remove the console and just flip the shifter myself (they did not disconnect it from the linkage, it's just how it mounts up to the new motor somehow i guess.

but, the car pulls muuuuuuch better now!

What's proper breakin for a new motor?

oh, and after the testdrive today, i think i'll just be keeping the car.

After removing the AWR mounts, the vibes are gone, and i enjoy driving it again

i'd still like to get the MSP or miata, but, i know what i got with this car now

It SHOULDN'T give me any other problems now that everything is good to go!

it just makes the most sense to keep it now that the motor is good
