What have you done to your P5 today?

what advantage would having a wide band front and center give you?

i dont like pillar pods, and i got the pod in a trade for detailing services

Original plan was to get the AFC at the same time i got the wideband, and that was the last mod i was gonna do to my p5, but ran into some money issues (quit my job w/o having a back up job already setup)

At every drive thru they ask what those numbers mean. I'm not a fan of pillar pods either!

Very nice Shane. I'll probably be picking up one of those gauge pods as well when the turbo time comes.

I have the Din pod, but it has Oil pressure, oil temp, and engine coolant temp.

I'll need a boost gauge and A/F gauge later

replace oil temp with boost. AF... eh, it's a tuning tool. Other than that it looks pretty. If you're using a stock ECU the AFRs are going to be what they are. If you're doing a tuneable option, then sure. And even if you're doing dyno tuning you don't need the gauge, just the sensor. It doesn't really seem like a worthwhile investment if you're not tuning the thing. And they're generally not cheap (not the good ones at least).

Unless you really want that blinky light....

I have 5 gauges - wideband in the steering column pod, oil pressure and oil temperature in the a-pillar pod and boost and voltmeter in the gauge surround. I plan on ditching or hiding elsewhere the voltmeter as it's not needed for everyday driving but it nice to know. I don't really know what I'd put in it's place though. Maybe trans temperaturen or EGT.

Wideband or A/f gauge?

I know the stock MSP tune sucks with the MSP ecu, so, what is recomended for a budget? I know with the stock MSP ECU, A/F is useless gauge cause i can't change the ratio.

You don't change the tune with an air-fuel monitoring gauge - you just watch it. A narrowband gauge is pretty much useless as it really only tells you is the mixture is "lean" or "rich". Under normal conditions, one of those would just oscillate back and forth between the two. A wideband is much more accurate and you can actually read numbers so it's much more usefull when tuning.

I already have oil and coolant temp as well as oil pressure already in the car in a din pod. Keeping track of the N/A vitals.

see post 22241

isnt there already a water temp in the cluster? I mean it wont give you an exact temp and its probably not as accurate but I mean its still there...

Yeah thats what I figured. The thing probably just has a cold, normal, and hot setting. I've never seen it stay between long, even after cooling the motor down in the staging lines at the track it will go down some but when I start it up it almost instantly goes back up to the middle. But then again it is water and it does heat up quickly but I never see the guage at anything over than dead center after it warms up even though my oil will go up and down +/- 20 degrees

it's VERY inaccurate.

I had steam billowing out of my engine bay and pouring out the back as well, but engine temp said it was still normal

That is what prompted my purchase

Mine was pinned on the 'H' when it overheated. I can only imagine how hot it actually was.
