got a new alternator and optima red top battery all for the low price of 490$ FTL...
autox

hotness. Smaller wheels / tires = better gearing and less weight though
Yea I know but I had the wheels first and then started autoxing. Im not nearly competitive anyways thanks to my stock suspension and since I don't plan on keeping the car that much longer don't want to start dumping money into a build although it gets more and more tempting every time I get on course.
haha yeah that's what I figured. If you're stock still, it may not be a bad idea to pick up a set of stockers for peanuts and throw a set of solid street tires on them to start learning on (hankooks z212, potenza re01r, azenis, etc) and use them as your 'race' tires.
And the temptation only grows. See: fully prepped STS2 miata lol

I'm stuck in STS cause I replaced my front seats and have a "shorty" header. I thought about using my stock rims for a while but they have my winter allseasons already on em so it didn't make sense to buy 2 sets of tires. I had been running BFG's for a good while, 3 years and ~1.5 seasons but just got a new set of Dunlop star specs and damn what a difference just have to keep em cool.

Rolled rear fenders tonight.
One more step down in the process of getting it back together.
Yup....Used this roller right here..

Came out pretty decent for never doing it before.
I am running RX8 Wheels BTW.
Turns out the rubbing I was encountering was the tire just barely kissing the inside of the inner fender with the combo I am running now. (Which I only encountered with 4 of us in the car ... coming back with a full load from Costco lol). I've got front OEM P5 bump stops in the rear - which works great on the MSP, but you need about another 1/4" of bump stop on the P5 due to the more narrow rear fender wells. I had RX8 wheels - will you be running a 5mm spacer in the rear? 215/35 or 40/ 18's?

Wow, that's one hot mess...I would seriously look into something like that if i could find a brake setup that would fill in the rest of the look nicely.
