What have you done to your P5 today?

well i changed the spark plugs and the pcv valve and the shifter doesnt vibrate quite as much.... when the butterfly fell off (recall for previous dates the car was made) it was racked around and it appears to have damaged one of the plugs...so i changed them and it helped marginally. still idles at the second tach though, not sure if that's normal or not. didnt have time to clean the egr because i helped my friend do the rear motor mount on his MS3. hopefully do that soon...it doesnt really fluctuate much, it idles at the 2nd tach and occasionally fluctuates btwn the 1st and 3rd but nothing major...

my friend reoiled my filter when we put the header on.... maybe overoiled it?

got my car working again. 3/5 of the stainless lines are installed, the other two will have to wait until I have time next week to get to a shop to cut my hardlines, replace the connector, re-flare the lines, and install the other two stainless lines (good thing goodridge makes their lines 3/4 of an inch longer than stock!

I'll lend you my flare tool for the cost of shipping. I had to cut the hard line on the rear drivers side of my East-Coast MSP. Any good car-parts store will have a replacement connector.

i'm still just kicking back here reading everything everyone is saying (being really glad i live in the bay area where we never get snow) and thinking that i still have no idea wut i wanna do with this car... i know that the first thing i'm gonna do is get a good alarm and the second is going to be to get new wheels and tires, but besides that i'm kinda at a loss... turbo and all would be hella expensive so i'd probably wanna go for bolt on mods... i really like the MS3 front end, i think i'd like ta get that... i'd have to lower it a bunch if i were to get that front end... i'd definately like ta get some nicer seats in there... i'd have to get a nicer hood... carbon fiber would be perfect... prob strip the front emblems... would go for exaust and intake... then i think i'd be done... besides maybe an ecu flash to run 91 octane (actually i can get 100 oct as well... maybe i should tune it to that, do u think?)

it's more like "what happend to your p5 today"...anyway, started smelling gas at idle..just got home and checked the car...sure enough, one of my injectors is leaking at the rail (mam billet rail)...that thing was such a PITA to install, it wasn't made right to begin with, no problem beau took it back and sent me another one, a few weeks later, that one didn't line up with the bracket correctly..(sad1) ...more fudging around...and the injectors leaked...i finally got them working and now it's leaking..it's been over a yr, but i'm tired of messing with it!!!(pissed)

fixed the leak this morn....wasn't at the injector, it was at the end of the rail where the O ring is on the return line...it's one of those things that can't be overly tight, but can't be too lose...anyway, o think the vibration caused it to back off just enough to squirt out some petrol...all is good again! (alright)

Installed HIDs and rolled 80k! I'm thinking i'm going to try and turbo my car at the end of summer, and that will put me around 90K. I know its alot but the car runs like new so i think i may do it still. Worst come to worst if i blow my engine i can buy one from Ken and drive my parents mustang around for a while.

I also need some help, i recently got my first ticket ever in my 4 years of driving, it was speeding 53 in a 35. The fine is 142 dollars, should i go to court to get it reduced or just pay it? Its my first ticket, do you think i can get it reduced some?

If you don't at least try to get it reduced (ie "Look at my awesome driving record?") and show up to court and hope the officer doesn't show up, you beez t3h dumb

go to court, dress smartly, tell the court it's your first offense, own up to it and explain that you didn't realize you were doing that speed and apologize for your behavor...it just may get dismissed, at least reduced!

yea i had planned on going to court, i just figured i would ask. to be fair it was an empty backroad at night, and i honestly didnt know i was going that fast. The only other car was one coming at me, and it turned out to be the police officer.

yeah, that's just one of those things. Do your thing and hope the judge is cool abt everything :)

I agree...you can also ask them to please not get your insurance involved by giving you points. This way the Prosecutor gets their conviction, the city gets their money, and your insurance won't go up.

Be glad you aren't in Arizona. 18 over the posted speed limit is over $400. Two more miles per hour and it would have been $460 and a trip to jail for criminal speed.

Chek with the court and see if they offer a traffic/driving school. Its usually about $100 and dismisses the ticket with no points on your license if you go.

isn't AR that has posted speed limits of 75 and some roads with no limit??

I didn't even know you could ask that of the prosecutor...maybe I'll try that later this month when I go to court for the first time. First offense ever...I'm 24 and have been driving since I was 16. Was going 48 in a 30 at night...just didn't realize I was going that fast...

Thought some roads with no limits was Montana? If it's AZ, all the more reason to move there (yippy)

Max in az is 75mph on the freeway. 20 over the posted or 86 mph is criminal speed.

Montana had areas with out a speed limit but I heard that was changing.
