What have you done to your P5 today?

i used some s*** i found at ace hardware, i heard 3M adhesive remover is the best, but i couldnt find it, so i had to scrub real hard and it sucked. my shaved emblems look like ass actually, i pulled them off, bondo, and paint from mazda, but the sanding didnt go so well and the little brush that mazda gave me sucked more balls than a prostitute on the 4th of july. so im gonna just pay some1 to do that.

chdahlen looks amazing ive been wanting to do that for so long now but wasnt sure if it would be a hassle to remove the adhesive myself... or if the paint under it would look good cause i cant afford to get it all repainted after but how easy would you say the removal is?

02pro5 - it wasnt "hard" it was just time consuming, you have to let the adhesive remover soak in and then scrub alot. and then do it again, and again... not hard work, like i said, time consuming.

rednecks - how much did you pay to have it done? i want to do it professionaly but i also want to wait untill i have the money for them to shave my roof rack rails, my badges, fix some scratches on my front and rear bumper, and a dent in the side of my car. sorry got side tracked, how much was the badge shaving?

It was all part of my custom paint job. Fix the hail damage on the roof and tops of the doors. Shave the rear emblems, weld the holes then grind them smooth. Paint the car. My painter did throw in the blue pearl for free.

If he wasn't a friend of mine the entire paint job and body work would have been almost $5K.

So how much for just the shaving? I don't have a clue. You could stop by several paint& body shops & get estimates.

what exactly did you use to scrub the adhesive with? just like a soft microfiber cloth?

There aren't any holes under the door guards just a bunch of sticky glue.

I used a rubber wheel that is used for removing pinstripes. It attaches to a drill and spins creating friction and heating up the glue. It removes the glue with out scratching the car. Have to keep it moving or it could burn the paint.

Crappy night pics of the DaveB gauge rings and TWM shifter / knob / boot. That combo looks really slick in an understated way imho. The black w/ silver stitching makes it look semi stock :) Exactly the look, and way more importantly, combined with the bushings, FEEL I was looking for. OMG Snick snick!

Made a leather handbrake boot and covered my armrest with leather.

Found some old poly bushings I had for sway bar endlinks. I'll see if I can use them on the P5 somewhere.

^whats up with the military time on the cell phone? shifter looks good
dunno, I like military time (aka time the rest of the world uses regularly lol). Thanks, it wasn't all that hard to install..it was a bit of a pain in the ass, but not "hard" on the complicated scale. That snap ring is a beotch!
