What have you done to your P5 today?

Done on a Mustang Dyno. I'll post the pic for you tomorrow just for giggles.

I'm guessing the new timing belt, AWR oil pan and MSP shifter do not contribute much, if anything to the HP numbers so I did not mention them. :)

I've heard mustang dynos were conservative too! that's crazy, can't wait to see the pic!

???? Were you in an accident?

Also thanks to chefchris as he bought my stock tails.....kinda nice knowing that even though I couldn't make it to MazdaSummerPalooza, a piece of my car could! :)

i bought the car with a crash into the rear quarter panel. the guy i bought it frum knocked off like 4g's for it so im happy.

hahaha i have to say, when i was visiting the Captain, et al, in Chicago, it absolutely cracked me up the way he said 'roof' (kind of like 'woof', but not entirely... sorry, doesn't translate to type) one day while on the phone... he looked at me quite funny as i tried to contain myself

back on topic, i actually spent some 'quality time' with morrigan tonight after only driving her the past several weeks... her windows got 'moosed' and the wiper blades treated with 303 :)

now i just need time and decent weather to do the rest, sigh...

HATE FARMERS INSURANCE. They knocked $1,000.00 off of the estimate and refuse to pay for factory parts. They are telling me I have to use recycled parts from their supplier in Phoexix and I'm responsible to pay for shipping.

They will only pay $45 per hour for labor and the shop charges $65 and I'm responsible for the difference on top of my $500 deductable.

Did I mention I'm really pissed at Farmers insurance.

well the protege5 is in a weird spot in my life right now....i have some new "found cash" that could go into some new wheels and a sound system...or it could be spent on a hunt for a miata, which is what im trying to do right now getting a miata.....so well see, either way the p5 will stay since ill be getting a 1990-1993! any words of advice?

I'll give you some advice.. the same damn advice I gave you yesterday on AIM.

Find a mostly stock 1990-1993 miata and stop spending money on the Protege5 meanwhile, in case the miata needs a little maintenance lovin when you get it. Find one without power windows if you can, because power windows are for sissies :D

chris, did you disconnect yours? cause we all know you are no sissy! :)

I'm saying on a miata :P no power windows on my protege5 would be gheeeetto! haha I think manual windows would be faster to roll up though.

Someone posted a fairly high milage '91 miata on the Hudson Valley craigslist about a week ago asking $1000 for it. Maybe its not a huge pile and still available.

**edit**
Scratch that I can't find it anymore so it must be sold.

OK KanseiZM here you go. Three mods putting the P5 at a max of 142.9 WHP.
Again this is a Mustang Dyno and shop temp was a hair over 100 degrees last friday. Three straight passes within 5 minutes of each other.
Pretty obvious where the VCTS does it's thing.
I actualy plan on trying this with a different manifold (no VCTS) before doing the engine swap, maybe help a few people who are wondering about those Intake Manifolds.

Agreed, I would like to know how this is possible since I have seen a lot more work go into Proteges with a lot less of a result. If this is possible I might just stay N/A after all.
