Talked with Mazda and they said they wouldn't install a "factory Mazda" alarm because it has to come from the factory that way, wtf? Damn, now either I'm going to have to install it or take it to someone who probably has no experience with such things on Mazdas.

I thought about doing that but it's like 8 ft of wire and harness - I just don't know where to put everything. Plus I have one wire that looks like it was cut - I'm not sure where that one goes. I haven't checked yet but I wonder if ProtegeFAQ has an install guide...whitemp5seattle said:just install it yourself. I installed my mazda alarm on my p5 in about an hour. It's UBER easy. everything is PNP

you could always put up the ebrake handle one click and it should work that way too. i think the switch that triggers the light, triggers the videos, but i could be wrong.Woody54 said:the navi is another 4 or 500 on top of this price, so its a little more expensive, its just a little HD that you plug into the back of the unit, but i wouldn't use the navigation anyways. i love my ipod and this had the best interface for it by far (also the fastest) that's the main reason that i went with this. plus i'll be modding it so that you are able to watch videos while the e-brake is off, for road trips with friends and stuff.
