haha i have no idea why they choose that stupid picture to put on the ad for it. just go to tweeter if you want to try it out or i could take some pics. the background of the screen changes color to match the color of the ipod that you put in too which is pretty crazy

Drove 300+ miles back home without incident only to hit a major pothole less than a mile from the house - I hope my wheel is still ok... Talked with Mazda and they said they wouldn't install a "factory Mazda" alarm because it has to come from the factory that way, wtf? Damn, now either I'm going to have to install it or take it to someone who probably has no experience with such things on Mazdas.

just install it yourself. I installed my mazda alarm on my p5 in about an hour. It's UBER easy. everything is PNP

ok well i'm not sure if you were being scarcastic or not but i'm proud of the headunit so i'm puttin up pics anyways....
ps can't get the 2 close up pics of just the screen to load for some reason, i'll try again later, but you get the idea here

does it have gps navigation? (poke)

the navi is another 4 or 500 on top of this price, so its a little more expensive, its just a little HD that you plug into the back of the unit, but i wouldn't use the navigation anyways. i love my ipod and this had the best interface for it by far (also the fastest) that's the main reason that i went with this. plus i'll be modding it so that you are able to watch videos while the e-brake is off, for road trips with friends and stuff.

I thought about doing that but it's like 8 ft of wire and harness - I just don't know where to put everything. Plus I have one wire that looks like it was cut - I'm not sure where that one goes. I haven't checked yet but I wonder if ProtegeFAQ has an install guide...

Actually the wiring harness isn't all that much wiring.. it's literally plug and play. The only thing you actually have to dig at to get to is the switch that senses when the driver door is open/close.. everything else is PNP, right up under the dash.

wewt! My RR-Racing F/R mount inserts were delivered today. After they forgot to ship my order. Whatever, I finally got them. I'll let you know my impressions once they're installed, whenever that's going to be...

I bought and installed a new Hifonics sub, and a crunch amp. They are both made my maxxsonics, who also makes MB quart. so far i reallly like them.

you could always put up the ebrake handle one click and it should work that way too. i think the switch that triggers the light, triggers the videos, but i could be wrong.
my buddy does the one click in his TL and it works just fine.
