What have you done to your P5 today?

Well I intsalled the Scan Gauge II I received from MadMat1987 yesterday, and went for a drive to the Gold Coast (100kms away) for the day, basically I have set it up and got some interesting results in regards to average L/100kms;

Ipswich > Gold Coast - Air Con on - 7.5-8.0L/100kms
Gold Coast town driving - Air Con on - 9.5L/100kms
Gold Coast > Ipswich - Air Con off - 6.5L/100kms

The Instantaneous KW is a nice feature through X-Gauge (add in gauges), and only works when the foot is on the pedal, was able to get 82Kw at 5500rpm in second :p Im just not sure if thats suppose to be at the flywheel or the wheels  Also, when the car is at a standstill, it'll read around 3.0Kw, not sure why, Im thinking something to do with the engine at idle...

I did discover last night I had a couple CEL codes, but accidentally deleted them before finding out what they were :o the car seems to run better with clearing them though, so quite puzzled...

Anyways here's a pic of it, mounted it on the column as anywhere else, I'd have to look away from the road to see it, but it doesnt mess around with the existing gauges:

2 check engine lights came on today... p0505 and p0037
p0505 is a idle control issue ( i have a blocked off egr... would this cause this issue?
p0037 is the second o2.... its not installed yet... monday it wil be....

owuld the egr block off be causing the idle issue though.. sounds like it would due to the fact of crappy idle when it is dirty

wh is egr removed ( im waiting on the stealership for a new plug on the manifold and didnt want that crap going everywhere so i blocked it off to not get air in past the maf and have issues with the turbo

^2nd O2 will cause you to run rich.

The p0505 could be the EGR being non-existent, I'm not sure tho. Have you ever taken a look at your IAC valve? How is that blocking plate setup? Is it blocking the air adequately? If there isn't a good seal and it pulls in ambient air, that will mess with your metered air readings and throw things off.

^^ ithe erg is still attached to the intake manifold... and pluged in.. howeverthe pipe from the manifold ( both locations where they would be conectedat are sealed.... brass fitting, with thread tape on it as well as RTV ALLL OVER it ... the entire sealing portion the IAC i havent looked at... i guess ill have to take it off and apart when i get a little more info on it... id hate to bust that thing and have to find another...maybe ill try blocking off the egr port its self and removing it ocmpletely...

so im deciding to do a wire tuck.... kinda... i am tired of having wires everywhere and my engine bay not looking.... well acceptable to me...

im starting with this

^^ that is a mil spec cannon plug adapter.... all your wires go into one side from the ecu and your engine harness on the other... it allows for simple removal of components... you unplug one thing and poof no more wiring to fire wall... makes pulling the engine a breeze

^That's neat... Good luck with the wire tuck, bro. It is very tedious work. I look forward to the end results tho. Clean engine bays are win.

^^ lol i know... i want it to look... pretty... for lack of a better word i need a better job though... cause right now i aint got s***..

I'll be interested to see the results of the wire tuck. Anytime i see an engine with the wires hidden it's a weird and cool sensation.

"Somethings.......missing. But what? I can't quite put my finger on it....but man that engine bay looks sweet!"

my plan is to take all the sensors and leave them in their location and rewire everything... find out what goes where... and color and number code it... have all the wires a and cables go from their locations under the intake manifold... however i have no idea where im going to put the fuse box... im retaining cruse control... so it may or not be possible.. ( i realize anything is possible with time and money... but im lacking the money part)

Found a couple drops of tranny fluid on the garage floor ...........not sure yet where it's coming from.....

check your axle seals and the drain plug, really the only place it could be comin from
just hope its not the axle seals, cuz those suck to replace lol

The dipstick tube is pretty wet. It's really pretty wet down at the bottom where the tube actually goes into the tranny. Not sure if it is pushing out around the o-ring at the tube...........
